The mobile node device includes a beacon signal reception unit for receiving a beacon signal containing access router identified information, a determination unit for comparing access router identification information from the beacon signal with that of a previous access router and a handover performing unit for carrying out a handover based on a result of the determination from the determination unit. The beacon signal structure, which is used for carrying out a handover in a WLAN environment, includes a reserved field into which access router identification information is inserted.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing a mobile Internet protocol (IP) using network address translation (NAT) in a mobile network are provided. The method includes periodically receiving an agent information message from an agent on a network, and checking a connection to a home network or a foreign network. If a connection to the home network is determined based on the agent information message, a global IP address received from the agent of the home network and local IP addresses set a plurality of hosts included in the mobile network are registered, and communication with the home network is performed through conversion between the registered global IP address and each of the registered local IP addresses. If a connection to the foreign network is determined based on the agent information message, a temporary IP address is received from the agent of the foreign network.

The domain name service server manages domain names and address of a plurality of mobile nodes. Once the domain name dynamic update server receives a message including the created address by the mobile node, the domain name dynamic update server updates domain name and address of the mobile node that are registered in the domain name service server using the domain name and address contained in the received message. The correspondent node connects to the domain name service server, obtains the updated address of the mobile node, and transmits a packet to the mobile node using the obtained address.
