  • Patent number: 11122553
Abstract: Systems and methods of early termination of uplink data transmissions for a UE are described. The UE transmits capacity information that indicates that the UE supports use of an ETS. The ETS indicates successful reception by the eNB of the uplink data prior to an end of a scheduled transmission period to transmit repeated instances of the data. The UE receives a schedule for repeated transmissions of the data that is based on a coverage level of the UE, and then transmits sets of one or more repetitions. After the transmission, the UE monitors a predetermined resource whether the ETS is present or whether the ETS indicates an ACK. If the ETS indicates successful reception, the UE terminates transmission of the remaining repetitions of the data and enters a sleep mode or transmits other uplink data.

  • Publication number: 20210226760
Abstract: A network device such as an evolved NodeB (eNB) or next generation NodeB (gNB) can configure a set of user equipment (UE) for cell reference signal (CRS) muting in order to provide better channel quality and power efficiency in communications. Where an eNB mutes CRS transmissions that are not needed by any UE, an improvement in downlink throughput and reduce connection drop rate can be generated. A CRS muting capability can be determined based on a user equipment (UE) capability information. According to the CRS muting capability of a UE, CRS muting can be generated in a physical channel outside of a narrow band (NB) or a wide band (WB) plus/minus X physical resource blocks (PRBs), wherein X is a non-negative integer, based on the CRS muting capability.

  • Patent number: 11071149
Abstract: Systems and methods of performing a RACH procedure in a MulteFire scenario are described. An eMTC UE communicates with an eNB on an anchor channel at a predetermined frequency of an unlicensed band and data channels on other frequency hopping channels of the unlicensed band. The UE receives a PBCH signal with System Information Broadcast Anchor (SIB-A-MF) scheduling information, and a SIB-A-MF after the PBCH. The SIB-A-MF indicates a RAC) resource configuration for a RACH procedure and dwell time of the data channels. The dwell time of the anchor channel is smaller than that of the data channels. The anchor channel includes a UL RACH resource for transmission of a RACH Request. The UE transmits UL RACH messages on UL resources indicated by the SIB-A-MF and receives DL RACH messages on different data channels.
