The image stitching method comprises: acquiring brightness compensation information of each of a plurality of input images to be stitched, the plurality of input images being correspondingly captured by a plurality of cameras arranged on different parts of an apparatus; performing brightness compensation on input images based on the brightness compensation information of each input image; and stitching the input images subjected to the brightness compensation to obtain a stitched image. The examples are capable of alleviating stitching trace in the stitched image that arises from light difference and exposure difference between the cameras, thereby enhancing the visual effect of the stitched image, conducive to effects of various applications that are based on the stitched image.
