  • Publication number: 20240087215
Abstract: A system for generating an advanced surround view for a vehicle includes a plurality of cameras to generate image data. Sensors are configured to determine kinematic data of the vehicle. Kinematic data are also obtained by a visual odometry module and/or a deep-vision mechanism. A processor is configured to process image data captured by the plurality of cameras to generate a 360-degree surround view layer representative of a surrounding area. The processor is further configured to construct an improved bicycle kinematic model for processing kinematic data to generate an under-chassis layer representative of an area under the vehicle. The processor is further configured to generate a 3D vehicle model layer and overlay objects layer. Display screens display a GUI of combined scene of the 360-degree surround view layer, under-chassis layer, 3D vehicle model layer and overlay objects layer as would be viewed from a virtual camera viewpoint.

  • Publication number: 20130075333
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for use in the treatment of produced water, e.g., water treatment in connection with hydrocarbon production operations. Silica in produced water produces undesirable scaling in processing equipment, which causes excess energy usage and maintenance problems. Electrocoagulation (EC) at relatively high water temperature, followed by any of membrane distillation (MD) or forward osmosis (FO), may be combined with a process of ceramic ultra-filtration (UF filtration) to treat water. Water to be treated may be produced water that has been pumped from a subterranean reservoir. The treated water may be employed to generate steam. The system comprises a plurality of units (e.g., EC, forward osmosis, membrane distillation unit, UF filtration, etc) which can be configured as an on-site installation or a mobile unit for on-site or off-site water treatment.

  • Patent number: 7783727
Abstract: A diskless host computer is automatically configured upon adding it to storage-area network (SAN). Upon physically connecting the diskless host computer to the network, the host computer alerts the network and a control station of its presence. A suitable identifier provided by the host, such as a Fibre Channel World Wide Name, is used to look up a configuration corresponding to a host of its type. Configurations corresponding to all types of hosts expected to be connected to the network are pre-stored in the SAN data storage system. Each configuration includes an operating system and can include any other software related to configuring or installing a new host. The control station then provides access to a storage device on which the operating system is stored so that the host can boot from it or access it for any other purposes.

  • Patent number: 7774844
Abstract: In a computer system having one or more host computers in direct communication with a data storage array, an attribute retrieval engine in direct communication with the data storage array monitors disk structures of the data storage array and produces a change event indication if a disk structure changes. An analysis engine in communication with the attribute retrieval engine and a rule set database produces an intrusion indication in response to a change event indication if information received from the attribute retrieval engine describing changes in disk structure match a rule in the rule set database.

  • Patent number: 6565631
Abstract: A high carbon content membrane and method for making the same are disclosed. The carbon membrane includes an asymmetric hollow filamentary carbon membrane, including a partial carbonization product of an asymmetric hollow filament including an aromatic imide polymer material. The carbon membrane is at least 95 weight percent carbon, and has a dense layer located in the outside surface portion of the hollow filamentary membrane and a porous base layer continued from the dense layer and located in the inside portion of the hollow filamentary membrane. A process for separating CO2 from natural gas is described including: contacting a mixture of CO2 and natural gas with a first side of a carbon membrane in a manner to cause a portion of the mixture to pass through the carbon membrane to a permeate side. The resulting mixture on the permeate side becomes enriched in CO2 over that of the mixture on the first side. The contacting step occurs at a pressure of at least about 200 psia.

The carbon fiber comprises a partial carbonization product of a hollow filament including an aromatic imide polymer material. The carbon membrane is at least 90 weight percent carbon, and has a dense fiber layer located in the outside surface portion of the membrane and a porous base fiber layer contiguous with the dense layer and located in the inside portion of the membrane. The natural gas is passed through the membrane at a pressure of at least about 200 psia.

  • Patent number: 5643815
Abstract: Submicron channel length FET is fabricated using larger (e.g., 1 micron) design rule fabrication equipment. A polysilicon layer (34) is first formed over an active device region (28). The following transistor elements are then sequentially formed using a single mask opening (38): [1] threshold adjust implant (40) by implanting impurity ions into the active device region surface; [2] LDD implant regions (42) by implanting impurity ions into lower portion of the polysilicon layer (38); and [3] source/drain doped implant regions (44) by implanting impurity ions into the upper portion of polysilicon layer (38). A gate opening (60) is next formed in the polysilicon layer (38) and overlying dielectric layer (57) using large design rule lithography to pattern, and then by etching. Sidewall spacers (66) are formed at a submicron distance apart in the gate opening (60), defining gate length (68) therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5589562
Abstract: A synthesis process for polysilsesquioxanes which produces a high yield, tractable copolymer of perfectly alternating silsesquioxane and bridging group segments is provided. A difunctional silsesquioxane monomer of the formula Si.sub.8 R.sub.8 O.sub.11 (OA).sub.2 or Si.sub.7 R.sub.7 O.sub.9 (OSiR.sup.4 R.sup.5 R.sup.6) (OA).sub.2 is reacted with a difunctional compound of the formula X-M-X which forms a bridging group for a time sufficient to condense the difunctional silsesquioxane monomers and bridging groups into a linear polymer containing alternating silsesquioxane and bridging group segments. The resulting linear copolymer is essentially free of impurities and has controllable properties through the proper selection of the monomeric starting materials.
