    Abstract: A detergent additive is described, which comprises at least one swellable layered silicate, an antimicrobial active substance and a surfactant and, optionally, an alkali salt. This detergent additive is distinguished in that it protects the antimicrobial active substance from oxidation by the bleaches which are usually present in detergents and in that said active substance is only released during the washing process.
