  • Patent number: 8221067
Abstract: Rotodynamic machine for compressing a multiphase fluid comprising at least one gas phase and one liquid phase. The machine comprises at least one mobile wheel 6 rotating around an axis A-A?, mounted in a housing 1, and at least one fixed wheel 7 secured to housing 1. Mobile wheel 6 comprises a hub fitted with at least two blades 20 so as to form at least two channels delimited by hub 8, housing 1 and two of said blades 20. The channels have a centrifugal part. The length of one of the channels defined as the ratio of the volume of a channel to the maximum orthoradial area of said channel, measured in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation, ranges between 10 cm and 20 cm, and the ratio of the area of the largest orthoradial channel cross-section to the area of the smallest orthoradial channel cross-section is less than or equal to 3.

  • Patent number: 7931735
Abstract: The invention relates to an oxycombustion method with capture of the CO2 produced. Mixer M supplies chamber CC with a mixture of oxygen from unit O and of recycled fumes from storage drum SG. Chamber CC is supplied with oxidizer from mixer M and with fuel flowing in through line 8. All of the combustion fumes are sent to water condensation unit CT, then fed into storage drum SG. Part of the fumes containing all the CO2 produced by combustion is compressed to about 60 bars, then cooled and partly liquefied to about 15° C. in liquefaction unit L1, and stored in drum SM. According to the invention, the partly liquefied CO2 is compressed by means of a multiphase pump in order to be discharged through line 16 and stored in an underground reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6007306
Abstract: The invention relates to a pumping system for applying a sufficient pressure increase to multiphase effluents for them to be conveyed from a source such as an petroleum producing well to a remote destination point. To improve pump function and render management of effluent transfers more flexible, the system has a loop (7) for recycling a fraction of the multiphase effluents leaving pump (1) to the inlet thereof, comprising preferably a tap (5) such as a T formed to decrease the volumetric ratio GLR of the recycled effluents. A regulator such as a control valve (8) and a buffer tank and an element (9) such as an ejector-mixer are interposed in the loop to use part of the energy of the effluents tapped off. The invention has application for offshore pumping facilities.
