  • Patent number: 11690785
Abstract: A septum holder having a body. The body has a disk shaped annular upper body part and a lower body part, at least one resilient elongated arm terminating with a distal enlarged element attached to the side of the body, and a septum fitted into the lower body part so that it extends downward parallel to the at least one arm. The septum is made of a single piece of cylindrically shaped resilient material. The upper part of the septum has a diameter larger than the middle part of the septum in order to form a flange that rests on an annular ledge created around the inside of the bottom section of the body when the middle part of septum slides through the open center at the bottom of the bottom section. The lowest part of the septum has a diameter that matches that of a septum in a fluid transfer component. The septum has a cavity created in its middle part into which an insert having at least one bore that functions as the seat of a needle valve is inserted.

  • Publication number: 20220257470
Abstract: Presented herein are a robotic system that is configured for compounding and preparation of medications comprising non-hazardous drugs and a vented drug vial adapter. The robotic system comprises: a laminar flow cabinet; and at least one robotic arm. The vented drug vial adapter is designed to connect a drug vial to another component of a drug transfer system. The adapter comprises a hydrophobic filter that prevents passage of liquid while allowing air to pass through it and a vent hole to the atmosphere. The vent hole is located above the filter thereby allowing equalization of the internal pressure while preventing the drug from contaminating the atmosphere.

  • Publication number: 20200360233
Abstract: A septum holder having a disk shaped annular body. The body has a cylindrical bottom part that projects downward, a cavity created in the bottom part of the body, an insert comprising at least one bore that forms the seat of a needle valve fitted into the cavity, at least one resilient elongated arm attached to the side of the body, the at least one arm projecting downward and terminating with a distal enlarged element, and a septum. The septum is made of a single piece of cylindrically shaped resilient material. The upper part of the septum has a hollow interior forming a cylindrical recess having an inner diameter no larger than that of the outer diameter of the cylindrical section at the bottom of the body of the septum holder. The lowest part of the septum has a diameter that matches that of a septum in a fluid transfer component.

  • Patent number: 9610222
Abstract: A vial adaptor having a bottom part adapted to be attached to the head section of a medical vial or any type of vessel or device that has a head section similar to that of the head of a standard medicine vial. The top part has numerous components. The apparatus also has a first locking mechanism; and a second locking mechanism. The first locking mechanism is adapted to lock a top part to the bottom part such that a tip of a spike cannot contact a stopper in the head section when the head section is being attached to the bottom part and to release the top part from the bottom part after the bottom part has been attached to the head section. The second locking mechanism is adapted to allow, after the bottom part has been attached to the head section, the spike to penetrate the stopper in the head section and to irremovably lock the top part to the bottom part.
