  • Patent number: 11108539
Abstract: A technique for synchronizing time in a machine-based system. The technique includes receiving time reference information for a first operational element included in the system; analyzing the time reference information against a known correct timing state for the first operational element; determining that the first operational element is not properly synchronized based on the time reference information and the known correct timing state; and in response to determining that the first operational element is not properly synchronized, causing a fault indicator associated with the first operational element to be displayed on a machine that monitors a plurality of operational elements included in the system.

  • Patent number: 9118636
Abstract: Transfer of data files, such as large files for digital media, is performed through the intermediary of a gateway communication manager (GCM) that resides in an interface zone between external clients and an internal network. The external clients are registered with the GCM and request transfer of data files to the internal network. The GCM identifies a transfer agent to handle the transfer, and allocates a portion of shared bandwidth. If insufficient bandwidth is available or transfer agents are unavailable, the requested transfer may be placed in a queue and transfer occurs when bandwidth and agents can accommodate the request. The GCM may prioritize and re-prioritize transfers, such as based on the sender, content, and so forth. Multiple GCMs may manage transfers for external clients, and shared logs may be maintained to permit flexibility in management by the GCMs.

  • Publication number: 20080219158
Abstract: A system and method for media content distribution, including establishing a relation between a content source and a content destination, at least one of the content source and the content destination being external to an entity that establishes the relation. Transmission of the content is permitted from the source to the destination only if the relation exists between the source and the destination.
