  • Publication number: 20230193047
Abstract: Methods for repairing the conventional physical barrier coating barrier on a component having a damaged portion. Applying a coating on the outer surface of the damaged portion of the component. The coating containing a reactive oxide. Initiating a reaction between the coating and the molten sulfates within the outer surface of the component. The reaction catalytically decomposes molten sulfates at the outer surface of the damaged portion of the component.

  • Publication number: 20210395535
Abstract: A coating including a plurality of indicator oxide nanoparticles, a binder, and a wetting agent. A sulfidation corrosion mitigation coating including: a sulfidation corrosion mitigation material, a binder, and a plurality of indicator oxide nanoparticles. An article including a metal alloy substrate having the sulfidation corrosion mitigation coating thereon is also provided. The sulfidation corrosion mitigation coating can include a first indicator layer containing indicator oxide nanoparticles disposed on the surface of the metal alloy substrate. Methods for inspection of an article having a coating containing a plurality of indicator oxide nanoparticles is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20170217802
Abstract: A method of removing barium and naturally occurring radioactive material from produced water. The method includes pretreating the produced water having a pH in a range of from about 4.0 to about 10.0 with a sulfate source to form a suspension of barium sulfate, radium sulfate, or a combination thereof, treating the pretreated produced water with an anionic flocculant and gravitational])? separating the treated produced water from the barium sulfate, radium sulfate, or a combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20150165347
Abstract: A microclarification system is disclosed which can be used to separate solid particulates dispersed within a base fluid such as water. The microclarification system includes a plurality of microfluidic separator units disposed between and in fluid communication with a fluid inlet manifold and a fluid outlet manifold. The microclarification system enforces lamellar flow of fluid though it and as a result the rate at which particles settle is enhanced within a collection chamber associated with each microfluidic separator unit and through which the fluid being purified must pass. Each microfluidic separator unit includes a microfluidic outlet microchannel disposed between the microfluidic collection chamber and the fluid outlet manifold, and a gas-liquid flushing module configured to purge particulates from the collection chamber during a collection chamber purge cycle. Optionally, each microfluidic separator unit may include a microfluidic inlet microchannel.
