  • Publication number: 20240142611
Abstract: A system is provided for monitoring and predicting traffic conditions in a vicinity of a system vehicle having a stop indicator system. The system may include one or more radar modules programmed to detect the presence of target vehicles traveling within a predetermined radar detection area near the system vehicle. The radar modules may be further programmed to detect signals associated with target vehicles and generate signals indicative of vehicle characteristics, such as vehicle velocity. The radar modules may be programmed to operate in connection with an alarm module to generate alert condition signals in response to assessing the target vehicles detected in the radar detection area. The system can then communicate appropriate alert event notifications in response to the generated alert condition signals.

The system may include one or more radar modules programmed to detect target vehicles traveling within a predetermined radar detection area near the system vehicle. The radar modules may be further programmed to detect signals associated with target vehicles and generate signals indicative of alert conditions. The radar modules may be programmed to execute various algorithms which generate alert condition signals in response to determining and analyzing a current distance, a braking distance, and/or a velocity of the target vehicle detected in the radar detection area. The system can communicate appropriate alert notifications in response to the generated alert condition signals.

  • Publication number: 20120055817
Abstract: A contact lens package that is reusable as a case to store a contact lens between uses includes a lid, a base, one or more receptacles for a contact lens case, and a time keeping device. The time keeping device comprises an indicator for each one or more receptacles that indicates a period of time that has elapsed since the contact lens case currently in the receptacle was placed therein. When the period of time has expired, the indicator denotes a need to discard both the contact lens case and a contact lens associated with the contact lens case.

  • Patent number: 7343175
Abstract: Methods of and apparatuses for varying and controlling the effective series resistance (ESR) of a power supply rail configured to transmit power from a power supply of a host device to a wireless network interface device (e.g. a wireless modem). Varying and controlling the ESR of the power supply rail, relative to an ESR of a super capacitor coupled to the power supply rail, allows control of the currents drawn from the host power supply and a super capacitor. During a time when the wireless network interface device is transmitting or is about to transmit, the ESR of the power supply rail is increased so that it exceeds the ESR of the super capacitor, thereby causing current for the power amplifier (PA) of the wireless network interface device to be drawn primarily from the super capacitor, rather than from the host power supply.

  • Patent number: 6869772
Abstract: A method is provided for the labeling of individual cells. Labeling is accomplished by coating a particle with at least one dye or nucleic acid sequence encoding a marker protein. The particle is then propelled toward the cell resulting in the particle contacting the cell for a time sufficient for the dye or nucleic acid to leave the particle and enter the cell. The present method allows for the differential labeling of individual cells within dense populations of cells.
