  • Patent number: 6120369
Abstract: A machine and method for mechanically cutting fish pieces includes a band knife for making cuts substantially parallel to a circumferential direction of a freezing drum. The first cutting device is adapted to be the first to come in contact with an uncut fillet and makes at least one cut directed in a thickness direction of the fillet laterally of the two main faces of the fillet and substantially parallel to a jacket face of a freezing drum. The first cutting device has at least one knife preferably providing self motion.

  • Patent number: 5810652
Abstract: A machine for cutting away undesired tissue (VP), e.g. fat tissue from fish fillets (F), said undesired tissue (VP) extending substantially in one main direction e.g. in the longitudinal direction of a fish fillet, comprises a rotary freezing drum (7) for freezing fillets (F) thereto in order to retain the fillets while a knife (18) cuts a fish meat slice (FS) loose from the freezing drum (7), a conveyor (3) being adapted to supply fillets (F) to the freezing drum (7). The freezing drum (7) is formed with at least one circumferential groove (7a) receiving said fat tissue portion (VP), an underlying conveyor (3), through the shape, design and suspension thereof, being adapted to press said fat tissue portion (VP) into the groove (7a) within which the fat tissue portion (VP) freezes and, thus, is retained, withdrawn from the drum mantle face (7') when the knife (18) cuts loose a fish slice (FS) freed from fat tissue.

  • Patent number: 5507690
Abstract: The invention relates to longitudinal cutting of fish fillet pieces substantially parallel with the skin side (S) of the original fillet. This cutting in layers or slices takes place in that the fish fillet (F, F1) is brought into contact with a rotating cooled freezing drum (7, 7') which freezes the fillet (F2) at the skin side (S) and conveys it in retained position against the operative cutting edge of a driven, endless band knife (18). During the rotation of the drum (7, 7'), the operative cutting edge of the band knife (18) is displaced stepwise in relation to the drum circumference between two successive revolutions of the drum (7, 7'), in order to cut a fish meat slice (FS) successively for each drum revolution.

  • Patent number: 4356596
Abstract: A spear-like fish cleaning device for attachment to a fish cleaning machine which can be inserted through a throat cut in a fish and into its belly and thereafter operated to grip the alimentary canal of the fish so as to close it off and disconnect it from the anus, the spear-like fish cleaning device including an elongated shaft, a pair of clamping elements attached to the free end of the shaft, the clamping elements being pivotable towards and away from one another, and, optionally, a knife attached to the free end of the shaft. The elongated shaft may be hollow to allow liquid or gas to be passed into the fish or else the liquid or gas may be passed into the fish via a tube attached to the outside of the elongated shaft.
