  • Patent number: 9227436
Abstract: A primer, a method, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described. An example non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to instruct a printer to advance a media by a first distance. The instructions, when executed, also cause the processor to instruct the printer to advance the media by a second distance different than the first distance to align the media with a cutter assembly. The instructions, when executed, also cause the processor to adapt an interleave mask based on the second distance. The instructions, when executed, also cause the processor to instruct the cutter assembly to separate a first portion of the media from a second portion of the media while the printer is printing on the media.

  • Patent number: 9028160
Abstract: In one example, a device for use in a printer includes a flexible piece and a holder configured to removably attach the piece to a platen that has a surface over which a print substrate is moved through the print zone for printing on the substrate. The piece and the holder are configured to place the piece in tension along the platen surface such that, when the piece is attached to the platen, the piece becomes sufficiently rigid to counter substrate edge curl.

  • Patent number: 8690314
Abstract: A media transport method includes applying a nominal tension to a media extending between and in contact with a media drive roller of a drive roller assembly and a media output roller of an output roller assembly by the media output roller. The media transport method also includes advancing the media toward and away from a media support member disposed between the media drive roller and the media output roller and in contact with the media by the media drive roller. The media transport method also includes determining whether the media drive roller is in a rotating state within a predetermined time period after being in a non-rotating state by a restart period determination module and a kinematic condition exists corresponding to a non-synchronized state between rotation of the media drive roller and the media output roller by a kinetic condition determination module.
