  • Patent number: 5100929
Abstract: Photopolymerizable dental compositions are proposed which are curable with visible light and which apart from usual auxiliary substances and additives contain polymerizable monomers of the group of the poly-thiol compounds and of the group of the poly-ene compounds and a photoinitiator and which, in order to obtain a curing free from any smeary layer, contain at least 10% by weight poly-thiol compound(s), at least 10% by weight poly-ene compound(s) and 0.01 to 5% by weight of at least one acyl phosphine compound as photoinitiator. The compositions can advantageously be used as dental impression compositions.

  • Patent number: 5086148
Abstract: A polyether-impression material comprising components(a) a polyether, which has at least two optionally substituted vinyl- and/or allyl-end groups,(b) an SiH component,(c) a platinum catalyst, and optionally(d) the usual additivescharacterized in that the SiH-component (b) can be obtained by the reaction of at least a bi- functional, or polyfunctional, e.g., trifunctional, allyl- or vinyl-hydrocarbon compound, the hydrocarbon radical of which, without taking account of the allyl- or vinyl-groups and the optionally present alkylene ether groups, has 6 to 30 C-atom and contains at least one aromatically unsaturated, heterocyclic, or cycloaliphatic ring, with at least one mole per vinyl- or allyl-group of at least a bifunctional, or polyfunctional, e.g., trifunctional, SiH compound of the formula: ##STR1## in which e=0 to 8,g=0 to 8,h=0 to 4 andR.sup.4 and R.sup.10 are the same or different, and are each H, methyl or ethyl, with the proviso that at least 1 and at the most 5 of R.sup.4 to R.sup.

  • Patent number: 5024711
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing a surface for bonding with a synthetic resin. In the method, a layer is applied onto a substrate surface by sand blasting with a composition comprising (A) 0.01 to 90% by weight of an optionally silanized material having a particle size less than 5 .mu.m and having a hardness greater than that of the substrate surface, and/or (B) 20 to 100% by weight of a silanized siliceous material having an average particle size of 2 to 200 .mu.m, and (C) the remainder of the sand blasting composition having an average particle size greater than 5 .mu.m, and optionally the layer is thereafter silanized. The invention is further directed to the above-mentioned composition.

  • Patent number: 5008303
Abstract: A molding composition for making casting patterns is described containing(a) 10-99.89, preferably 20-90%, by weight of at least one di or polyfunctional acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid ester which burns without residue,(b) 0.01-5% by weight of an initiator system which can initiate the radical polymerization and(c) 0-80, preferably 10-70%, by weight of organic fillers, pigments and other auxiliary substances burning without residue, the quantity particulars each being related to the total amount of (a)+(b)+(c), characterized in that it further contains(d) 0.1-30, preferably 1-20%, by weight with respect to the component (a) of a chemically inert organic compound burning without residue and having a boiling point and/or sublimation point in the range >150.degree. C.This molding composition is distinguished by not causing any faults in the casting jacket, in particular no crack formation, on burning out of the mold.

  • Patent number: 4946901
Abstract: Polymerizable compositions are described on the basis of (meth)acrylic acid esters which contain as filler a precipitation polymer that is formed from acrylic acid esters and/or methacrylic acid esters, and possibly other copolymerizable monomers, with 10 to 100 mol % of the (meth)acrylic acid esters being bi or polyfunctional. These compositions are particularly suitable as dental compositions.

  • Patent number: 4927866
Abstract: A shapable material is disclosed which contains:(a) an aluminum fluorosilicate glass;(b) at least one polycarboxylic acid having an average molecular weight greater than 500;(c) a carbonate and/or hydrogen carbonate in an amount of at least 0.1% by weight, based on (a);(d) optionally a chelating agent; and(e) optionally water.Said material is especially suited as bone replacement material and can be shaped into porous articles.

  • Patent number: 4916805
Abstract: For the attachment of components using the SMT method a procedure is suggested in which the adhesive used is activated prior to fitting of the components to the circuit board by irradiation with light having a wavelength in the range of 200 to 600 nm to such an extent that the desired initial tackiness is maintained and there is no formation of skin on the surface of the adhesive. This makes it possible to cause the adhesive composition to fully cure in a shorter time and at lower temperature than has been possible so far without the wettability of the adhesive during the fitting of the components to the circuit board being impaired.
