  • Patent number: 8663820
Abstract: The invention relates to a printed document of value having at least one authenticity feature in the form of a luminescent substance based on doped host lattices. The host lattice has a strong crystal field and is doped with at least one chromophore with the electron configuration (3d)2.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 5, 2002
Date of Patent: March 4, 2014
    Assignee: Giesecke & Devrient GmbH
Inventors: Thomas Giering, Rainer Hoppe, Fritz Stahr
  • Patent number: 7648074
Abstract: A value or security document (2) contains a security feature (4) in the form of a film laser with an emitter layer (12) and preferably a protective layer (14). A spatial, periodic modulation (8), preferably of the surface of a substrate, permits fine adjustment of a laser wavelength within a range of possible wavelengths. This permits a coding of the security feature by different portions of different wavelengths.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 19, 2002
Date of Patent: January 19, 2010
    Assignee: Giesecke & Devrient GmbH
Inventors: Thomas Attenberger, Wolfgang Deckenbach, Rainer Hoppe
  • Publication number: 20080163994
Abstract: The present invention relates to a security feature for security papers, value documents and the like having an acid-labile feature substance as the core and a shell consisting substantially of metal oxide, the security feature exhibiting greater stability against the action of acids compared with the acid-labile feature substance.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 15, 2005
    Publication date: July 10, 2008

  • Patent number: 6858323
Abstract: The invention relates to a document of value, such as a paper of value, ID card or the like, having at least one authenticity feature in the form of a luminescent substance. The luminescent substance has particles consisting of a dye-laden molecular sieve whose structure forms an optical resonator. In said resonator at least one dye can be excited to show stimulated emission, the dye being incorporated in the cavities of the molecular sieve or located in or on the internal and external surfaces of the molecular sieve, and the transition to stimulated emission being accompanied by a detectable change in the luminescent properties of the dye.

  • Patent number: 6186438
Abstract: An apparatus for positioning a smoothing roll which is mounted so as to be displaceable by a cantilever arm against the reeling mandrel of a strip coiler and to be adjustable particularly with a roll changing head against the reeling mandrel with the use of a force application unit. The roll change head includes a swivel arm which can be swivelled in a joint and is drivable to carry out a swivelling motion, wherein a steel roll is mounted at the free end of the swivel arm in a bearing, and an adjusting arm supporting the smoothing roll is mounted at the free end of the swivel arm, wherein the adjusting arm includes a force-controllable adjusting system for adjusting the smoothing roll against the strip coiler or the outer tube surface thereof, and wherein the force application unit for displacing the cantilever arm is a distance-controllable adjusting unit.
