Patent number: 11289890Abstract: A method operates an electrical network, in particular a power supply network or power distribution network, in which protective apparatuses are connected to a multiplicity of measurement positions. The protective apparatuses monitor an assigned network section of the electrical network and are respectively parameterized with at least one apparatus-side parameter value which influences the mode of operation of the respective protective apparatus. Accordingly, the protective apparatuses are remotely readable and are connected to a superordinate central device, and the central device reads out the apparatus-side parameter values from the protective apparatuses.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2019Date of Patent: March 29, 2022Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Robert Kirkman, Rainer Krebs

Patent number: 10228673Abstract: A method for controlling and/or closed-loop controlling an electric energy system. Empirical data are provided in a first data storage device for stabilizing the energy system, and a multi-dimensional decision matrix created with a data processing system in a second data storage device. The decision matrix respectively containing as a first dimension derived from the empirical data, system states of the energy system and in the energy system as a second dimension, possible results. Phasor measurement data for current and voltage with a high temporal resolution and a time stamp are obtained with phasor measuring devices distributed in the energy system and used to control the electric energy system. A system state and a result determined by the data processing system using the phasor measurement data and at least one step is selected and automatically carried out for securing the stability of the energy system.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2015Date of Patent: March 12, 2019Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Chris Oliver Heyde, Rainer Krebs, Edwin Lerch

Patent number: 6394430Abstract: An auto-aspirating, rotational dispersion device for gases and liquids with a rotating hollow shaft employed for gas suction and gas channels communicating with said hollow shaft to openings in the gas channels that are positioned at intervals over the circumference of the device, at which openings the gas and liquid are mixed. The device is distinguished by the fact that the gas being dispersed flows in a manner separate from the liquid, from the hollow shaft through the gas channels and is mixed with the liquid outside of the device.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1999Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Assignee: Ekato Rühr-und Mischtechnik GmbHInventors: Peter Forschner, Rainer Krebs, Hans-Jürgen Wei&bgr;

Patent number: 6072310Abstract: A method and a device for detecting and correcting a saturated current profile of a current transformer in a particularly simple and reliable way, initially uses a number of logic inquiries derived from sampled values of the present current signal profile to detect a start of saturation on the basis of a pattern recognition. An end of saturation is subsequently determined, likewise with the aid of a number of logic inquiries. A saturation signal is then formed from a combination of the logic inquiries. In the case of the detection of saturation, the current sampled values are discarded, and an image of the unsaturated current signal profile is reconstructed from a number of sampled values determined ahead of the time of detection of saturation.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 1998Date of Patent: June 6, 2000Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Rainer Krebs, Anil Kumar, Jorg Ammon

Patent number: 5904423Abstract: A stirring element (10), especially a gasing stirring element for stirring liquids and introducing a gas, preferably air, to the liquids. The stirring element has a hub (12) for attachment to a stirring shaft and a support disk (14) joined to the hub (12), a plurality of stirring blades (16) being attached to a peripheral edge of the support disk (14). To achieve a low output power coefficient, each stirring blade (16) is made of a wedge-shape that is directed in the direction of rotary motion of the stirring element (10). Preferably, radially inner end sections (22, 24) of two sides (18, 20) of the stirring blade (16) are angled relative to sides (18, 20) outwardly with reference to the direction of rotary motion of the stirring element (10). The stirring element (10) simplifies gas feed and prevents clogs. By providing the support disk (14) with a conical shape having a ring of teeth (26) on its outer edge, a uniform distribution and good dispersion of the gas bubbles is obtainable.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1997Date of Patent: May 18, 1999Assignee: EKATO Ruhr-und Mischhtechnik GmbHInventors: Peter Forschner, Rainer Krebs, Hans-Jurgen Weiss

Patent number: 5642250Abstract: In order to achieve improved release characteristics in the case of a protective device for power supply lines, a protection release method is proposed in which at least one signal (i, u) is supplied to a filter device (3, 16), and a release decision is made as a function of its output signal (SA, Z). If the conditions are insufficient for release, a change is made to the filter characteristics. The filter device (3, 16) in this case preferably comprises adaptive filters or combinations of filters. In a further refinement, a fuzzy region, which is used as the release criterion, is formed as a function of a change in the output signal.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1995Date of Patent: June 24, 1997Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Rainer Krebs

Patent number: 5595475Abstract: The present invention generally pertains to an agitating element for agitating low-to-medium-viscosity liquids. The agitating element comprises an inner main blade and an outer side blade, and the two blades are integrally constructed. The main blade is angled with respect to the rotation axis of the agitating element, while the side blade is angled with respect to the rotation plane of the agitating element. The agitating element according to the current invention enables high hydraulic efficiency especially in a vertical direction so as to accomplish thorough mixing of the material with a minimal energy input.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1995Date of Patent: January 21, 1997Assignee: EKATO Ruhr- und Mischtechnik GmbHInventors: Hans J.
