  • Patent number: 9010221
Abstract: Hand pliers for assembly purposes includes an assembly limb and a handle limb rotatably connected to one another via a first link joint. The handle limb is divided into an off-handle lever and a handle-near lever and these two levers are rotatably connected to one another by a bolt via a second link joint, wherein a tension wheel and a ratchet wheel with external toothing connected torsionally proof to it are pivotably arranged on the bolt side by side in axial direction, and the tension wheel engages into a tension device that connects both handle limbs to one another, and a spring-loaded dog ratchet is arranged at the handle-near lever, engaging into the ratchet wheel in such a manner that when the handle-near lever makes a latching movement it permits a rotation of the ratchet wheel on closing the pliers, but prevents its rotation in the opposite direction.

Abstract: A method to derive anatomical structures from non-invasive imaging technologies is provided. Non-invasive imaging technologies are computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), surface scans and others. Imaging data obtained by a non-invasive technology is used to create a surface contour. The imaging data is transmitted to a rapid prototyping apparatus as readable data. With this readable data the rapid prototyping apparatus establishes a positive or negative surface model, such as a fixation device, a mask, or a prosthesis, or other instruments for medical purposes.

  • Patent number: 7140278
Abstract: A pair of manual tongs comprising two limbs which are rotatably connected in a common first rotational axis. The first limb is separated into two levers in its lever section, the two levers being rotatably connected in a first articulation, in a second rotational axis parallel to the common first rotational axis. A means of traction connects the second limb to the lever of the first limb, which is situated at a distance from the handle. The means of traction can be shortened by means of a pivotal movement of the lever of the first limb, which is situated close to the handle, above the second rotational axis. The areas of use of the manual tongs are often difficult to access. According to the invention, the second limb of the inventive manual tongs is thus separated into a lever situated at a distance from the handle and a lever situated close to the handle and the two levers are rotatably connected in a second articulation, in a third rotational axis which is parallel to the common first rotational axis.
