Abstract: Herbicides containing at least one substituted pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine I ##STR1## or a plant-tolerated salt of those compounds I in which at least one of the substituents R.sup.1 to R.sup.5 is an acidic or a basic group,and at least one herbicidal active ingredient selected fromA) the group consisting of the cyclohexenone derivatives II, orB) the group consisting of the 2-(heteroaryloxy)- or 2-(4-aryloxy)-phenoxycarboxylic acid derivative.

Abstract: The preparation of Z-1,2-diarylallyl chlorides of the general formula I ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, independently of one another, are hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy or a substituted aromatic radical, and n and m are 1, 2 or 3, by dehydrating chlorohydrins of the formula II ##STR2## in which the radicals are as defined above, at up to 50.degree. C. in an inert ether or carboxylic acid ester as solvent and in the presence of a carboxylic anhydride and an organic or inorganic acid, the conversion thereof into azolylmethyloxiranes, and novel intermediates are described.

Abstract: 1-Halo-1-azolylmethane derivatives of the formula ##STR1## where A and R are each alkyl, benzyl, benzoyl, acyl, biphenylyl, naphthyl, hetaryl or phenyl, it being possible for each of these radicals to be substituted;D is Cl or Br,X is CH or N,and their plant-compatible acid addition salts and metal complexes are used as fungicides.

Abstract: A process is described for the preparation of cis-2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)-2-(halophenyl)-3-(halophenyl)oxirane I ##STR1## by epoxidizing Z-3-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-2-(halophenyl)-1-halophenyl)propene II, ##STR2## where halogen is in each case fluorine, chlorine or bromine, which comprises reacting the crude product of the epoxidation with one or more reducing agents, which are added to the reaction mixture in a considerable excess over the amount necessary to destroy any peroxide compounds present.

Abstract: A fungicidal composition of 2-(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)-2-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-(2-chlorophenyl)-oxirane of the formula ##STR1## 1-[N-n-propyl-N-2-(2,4,6-trichlorophenoxy)-ethylcarbamoyl]-imidazole ##STR2## and methods of combating fungi with this composition.
