Patent number: 9390090Abstract: An approach is provided that receives a change request from a requestor. The change request includes metadata regarding the change, one or more changes, and one or more change assumptions corresponding to at least one of the changes. The change request is stored in a data store of pending requests. One or more systems are identified that correspond to each of the change assumptions. The identified systems are automatically queried with queries that correspond to the change assumptions. Query responses in response to the querying are received from the identified systems. The validity of each of the change assumptions is determined based on the received query responses. If the change assumptions are valid, then the changes included in the change request are processed. On the other hand, if at least one of the change assumptions is invalid, then the change request is rejected.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2010Date of Patent: July 12, 2016Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: James Joseph Babka, Nikhil Raj Krishna, Dilum Ranatunga, Ryan Shillington

Publication number: 20090032488Abstract: A closure includes a plastic shell having a base wall and a skirt with at least one internal thread segment for threaded engagement with at least one external thread segment on a container neck finish. A stopper, preferably of natural or synthetic cork, is secured to the base wall within the skirt and has an outer surface for sliding fit within the inside diameter of the container neck finish. An annular seal is disposed on the base wall surrounding the stopper within the skirt for sealing engagement with an end surface of the container neck finish. The closure can readily be removed from the container neck finish by unthreading the closure shell and pulling the plug from the container neck finish. The sliding fit between the external surface of the stopper and the inside diameter of the neck finish is sufficiently tight to provide a popping sound as the closure is removed from the neck finish.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 30, 2007Publication date: February 5, 2009Inventors: David C. Patent number: 6308862Abstract: A dispenser package for dispensing dual viscous products which are separately retained within the package and merged at a dispensing nozzle. The dispensing package comprises a container having a compressible portion and a hanger and pouch assembly of plastic material suspended in the container. The hanger has an upper portion with a pair of openings. A flexible film pouch having an opening is bonded in each opening in the hanger and has portions bonded to the hanger. The hanger has lower portions comprising of spaced flexible walls associated with each pouch. The head assembly includes a one-way valve associated with each opening in the hanger and a portion which maintains the viscous products from each of the pouches separate until they pass from a nozzle on the head assembly to the exterior when the compressible portion of the container is squeezed.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1992Date of Patent: October 30, 2001Assignee: Owens-Illinois Closure Inc.Inventors: William E. Patent number: 5176291Abstract: A dispensing package (14, 114, 214) which is made up of a reusable pumping head portion (16, 116, 216) and a body portion (18, 118, 218) to which the head portion is removably attached. The pumping action is initiated by the reciprocation of an annular, reciprocable dosing piston (30, 130, 230) which may be a part of the body portion (30, 130) or a part of the head portion (230). The reciprocation of the dosing piston is initiated by the arcuate movement of a pumping lever (40) that is carried by the head portion. The pumping lever is biased by a spring (46) to return to its original position at the conclusion of a pumping cycle. Striping can be accomplished by providing the dosing piston with a spout (32, 232') that extends downwardly therefrom, the spout having a circumferential series of spaced apart apertures (32d, 232d') extending therethrough above a lower bottom tip portion (32b, 232b') thereof.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1991Date of Patent: January 5, 1993Assignee: Owens-Illinois Closure Inc.Inventors: William F. Fillmore, Raj Krishna, Kurt N. Harris
