Abstract: The use of one or several alkyl hydrogen fumarates of the general formula wherein R is a C1-5 alkyl, optionally in admixture with dialkyl fumarate of the formula and optionally customary pharmaceutical excipients and carriers for preparing a pharmaceutical composition in the form of micro-tablets or micro-pellets for treating psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, neurodermatitis and enteritis regionalis Crohn.

Abstract: Fumaric acid derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl group or a metallic cation, andR.sub.2 is a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic C.sub.6 -C.sub.24 alkyl group, psoralen-9-yl, retinyl, .alpha.-tocopheryl (vitamin E), calciferyl, corticosteroid-21-yl or monosaccharid-.omega.-yl; a group of fumaric acid derivatives based on glycerol, alkane diol or polyol molecules; and fumaric acid derivatives of the formula ##STR2## wherein n is an integer from to 30 to 260,R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group,R.sub.4 is one of the R.sub.3 groups and n is the number of molecule repetitions, processes for their production and compositions containing same are described. These compounds are useful as drugs for the treatment of cryptogenically-caused diseases and have antisporiatic as well as antimicrobial action.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition in dosage form for treating psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis includes, essentailly, as active substance (s), a fumaric acid monoalkylester salt having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a methyl, propyl or isopropyl group, and M.sup.++ is calcium, alone or in combination with at least one of the fumaric acid alkyl ester salts as defined above, M.sup.++ is selected from the group consisting of magnesium, zinc and iron. The combination includes, by weight, 10-250 parts, 0-50 parts magnesium, and 0-50 parts zinc or iron salt of fumaric acid monoalkylester, in an amount of fumaric acid not exceeding 300 mg. per dosage form, in combination with ordinary pharmaceutically compatible solid adjuvants and vehicles.

Abstract: A composition including at least one salt of fumaric acid monoalkyl ester having the formula: ##STR1## alone or in combination with dialkyl fumarate having the formula: ##STR2## is provided for treatment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. In particular, use of the calcium salt of fumaric acid monoalkyl ester in the composition is desirable.
