A process for the preparation of the novel polymorph Form G comprising spray drying a 3 to 10% w/v solution of Fluvastatin sodium in a solvent using a spray gun at inlet temperature of 120 to 200° C. and outlet temperature of 60 to 110° C. of the spray gun is also provided.
