  • Patent number: 11821814
Abstract: A leak detection system is provided with a first window configured to mount at a first opening in a first wall portion in an enclosure (e.g., for a gas turbine engine or other equipment in a power plant). The leak detection system includes a leak sensor configured to transmit a beam through the first window and an interior of the enclosure to obtain sensor feedback. The leak detection system includes a controller configured to evaluate the sensor feedback to monitor for a leak of a hazardous fluid in the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 9506835
Abstract: A fuel leak detection system for use in a turbine enclosure is provided. The system includes a ventilation duct extending through an interior cavity of the turbine enclosure such that an extended portion of the ventilation duct is positioned within a bottom portion of the turbine enclosure. The ventilation duct includes a plurality of openings configured to allow air from within the turbine enclosure to be drawn into the ventilation duct through the plurality of openings. The system also includes a sensor system coupled in flow communication with the air drawn into the ventilation duct, the sensor system configured to detect fuel in the air.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 23, 2014
Date of Patent: November 29, 2016
    Assignee: General Electric Company
