  • Patent number: 11310669
Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for intercepting user equipment (“UE”) traffic based on granular characteristics specified by a law enforcement agency (“LEA”) or other authorized requestor. The granular characteristics may indicated a content type, keywords, and/or other characteristics that the requestor may desire to intercept. Traffic attributes, which may be different from the granular characteristics, may be identified based on the granular characteristics. Network components suited to intercepting traffic having the identified attributes may be provisioned to intercept the traffic.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 20, 2019
Date of Patent: April 19, 2022
Assignee: Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc.
Inventors: Amir Saghir, Sudhakar Reddy Patil, William W. Wong, Rakesh H. Chandwani

  • Patent number: 10805810
Abstract: Traffic flows in a wireless network may be optimized based on a current state of the wireless network as well as based on information received from mobile devices attached to the wireless network. In one implementation, a method may include receiving, from mobile devices attached to the wireless network, values for parameters associated with applications that are executed by the mobile devices. The method may further include receiving, from network elements in the wireless network, information relating to a state of the wireless network; and determining based on the values for the parameters associated with the applications and based on the information relating to the state of the wireless network, modifications to an operation of the wireless network to optimize transmission of the traffic flows in the wireless network with respect to the parameters.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 10, 2013
Date of Patent: October 13, 2020
Assignee: Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc.
Inventors: Lalit R. Kotecha, Rakesh H Chandwani
  • Patent number: 9277345
Abstract: The quality of a multicast broadcast that is being received by a mobile device may be determined. In one implementation, a method may include receiving a radio signal corresponding to a multicast broadcast of content; measuring a strength of the received signal; determining a minimum signal strength to receive the content associated with the multicast broadcast; determining a signal quality metric, associated with the multicast broadcast, the signal quality metric being based on a difference between the measured strength of the signal and the determined minimum signal strength; and providing a visual indication of the signal quality metric.
    Type: Grant

Inventors: Danny Chick-Leung Lui, John Gu, Sergio Aguirre, Musa Kazim Guven, Rakesh H Chandwani
  • Patent number: 9131390
Abstract: Network parameters implemented in a number of network devices may be optimized. In one implementation, a device may receive values for a network parameters, the network parameters including network parameters associated with devices in a network. At least a first portion of the network parameters may relate to traffic control in transmission control protocol (TCP) sessions in the network and at least a second portion of the network parameters may relate to data transmission in a radio access interface in the network. The device may further receive values for performance indicators that define a performance of one or more aspects of the network. The device may further modify one or more of the network parameters based on the received values for the network parameters and based on the received performance indicators, to optimize performance of the network with respect to the performance indicators.
