  • Publication number: 20220401193
Abstract: A hollow-cylindrical device (1) having first and second openings (2, 3) for continuous production of a dental composite block. A curable composite material (4) and a temperature control unit (5) are provided. The composite material (4) is introduced into the device (1) through the first opening. The composite material (4) is cured by energy from the temperature control unit (5). An energy input occurs across a defined length of the substantially hollow-cylindrical device (1) and/or for a defined period of time. The composite material (4) is subsequently guided through the first opening (2) of the device (1). The composite material (4) is discharged from the second opening (3). In a first region along a portion of the length of the device, the device is either provided with an insulation or the flow-through device has a heat conductivity of 0.05 to 12 W/(m×K).

  • Publication number: 20150366643
Abstract: The invention relates to a tooth veneer element (1), in particular for a human tooth (5), in particular for covering a facial cervical surface (6) of the tooth (5.1). The tooth veneer element (1) is designed to only partially cover a facial surface of a tooth crown (5.2) of the tooth (5.1). The invention also relates to a kit with a plurality of tooth veneer elements for veneering tooth surfaces, wherein the tooth veneer elements especially have different shapes and/or sizes and/or colours and/or degrees of translucency. The invention further relates to a method for applying such a tooth veneer element (1) to a tooth, wherein the tooth veneer element (1) is applied to the tooth in such a way that a facial surface of a tooth crown (5.2) of the tooth (5.1) is only partially covered, wherein in particular a facial cervical surface (6) of the tooth (5.1) is covered substantially completely.

  • Patent number: 8227018
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a dental post according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (i) overjacketing extrusion of at least one thermoplastic material over at least one filament or yarn, such that the thermoplastic material cross-sectionally enwraps the at least one filament or yarn; (ii) solidifying the extruded product of step (i); (iii) equipping the solidified extruded product of step (ii) with a surface texture, such that the thermoplastic wrapping is not modified in a way as to expose or damage the at least one filament or yarn. The invention allows for more flexibility in the manufacturing of dental posts, especially in generating surface textures of such dental posts.

  • Patent number: 8106109
Abstract: The invention concerns a dental filling material with dual hardening mechanism, wherein i) a first hardening mechanism is based on a photocuring reaction, preferably a radical reaction, and ii) a second hardening mechanism is dependent on H2O as a reactant, especially as a ligand. Preferably, the second hardening mechanism is a gypsum-type reaction. Owing to the expansion of the composition an excellent marginal seal can be achieved, while the first hardening mechanism allows for a rapid cure on demand.

  • Publication number: 20050017003
Abstract: A retaining device (1) for at least two containers (5, 5?) comprises a basic body (11) with an accommodating opening (2), in which the containers (5, 5?) can be fixed in a defined removal sequence. This retaining device (1) is a constituent part of a container arrangement having at least two containers (5, 5?), and accommodates the containers (5, 5?). The container arrangement is characterized by such an arrangement of the containers (5, 5?) in the retaining device (1) that the containers can be removed from the retaining device (1) in a predeterminable sequence.
