  • Patent number: 9176700
Abstract: Certain example embodiments described herein relate to systems and/or methods for efficient rendering of vector graphics corresponding to business models generated by a business process management (BPM) package. Such graphics may be provided in an Abstract Vector Graphic (AVG) format. In certain example embodiments, graphic images are provided to an AVG generator, along with a renderer fragment file including static code that is independent from the generated graphic but dependent on the target platform. The AVG generator in certain example embodiments produces program logic that is executable on the target device to cause the display of the graphic.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 2011
Date of Patent: November 3, 2015
    Assignee: SOFTWARE AG

  • Patent number: 7791620
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for rendering a symbol with non-linear scaling, the symbol comprising one or more elements. In one implementation, a computer-implemented method is provided for rendering a symbol and may comprise the steps of receiving a scaling instruction to scale the symbol, the scaling instruction including at least one scaling factor, determining whether to exclude one or more elements of the symbol from the scaling factor to be applied to the symbol, wherein a determination to exclude one or more elements is based on whether an element is tagged as being non-scalable, and rendering the symbol on a canvas with non-linear scaling, such that the elements of the symbol that are determined to be tagged are not scaled according to the scaling factor.

  • Patent number: 7787708
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for rendering symbols with text. In one implementation, the method may comprise selecting a symbol from a repository, selecting text to be combined with symbol, and combining the text with the symbol. To combine the text with the symbol, the method may further comprise combining the text with the symbol according to at least one of inserting text within an defined text box in the symbol, and automatically determining a text box within the symbol to insert the text.

  • Publication number: 20060290544
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for creating customized symbols and modeling business processes using such symbols. In one implementation, a computer-implemented method is provided for creating a customized symbol. The method may comprise selecting a symbol, the symbol comprising graphics data. The method may further comprise defining a customized symbol based on the selected symbol, wherein the step of defining comprises specifying at least one external property for the selected symbol, and storing the specified at least one external property in a style repository to enable rendering of the customized symbol on a canvas.
