  • Patent number: 9285024
Abstract: A torque transmission device comprising a torque converter disposed in a drive train of a motor vehicle, in particular a hydrodynamic torque converter or a fluid clutch, wherein the converter or the fluid clutch comprises a turbine shell and a pump shell which can be coupled through a pump clutch and at least one pump damper with a converter cover, and comprising at least one converter damper and at least one converter lock up clutch.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 1, 2010
Date of Patent: March 15, 2016
Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG
Inventors: Eugen Kombowski, Dominique Engelmann, Bruno Mueller, Thorsten Krause, Ralf Stopp
  • Patent number: 9079506
Abstract: A method for controlling a hybrid motor vehicle which has an electromotive internal combustion engine, which is operated by an electric accumulator and is operatively connected to a generator for the charging of the accumulator, and a control unit for controlling the drive unit, in particular the internal combustion engine as a function of the charge state of the accumulator. So that the internal combustion engine is operated advantageously, in addition to a control process as a function of the charge state of the accumulator, in order to protect the control unit and/or for the effective operation thereof, the internal combustion engine is controlled, at least as a function of a retrieved continuous power rating of the accumulator, a temperature of the accumulator, of vibrations occurring in the motor vehicle and/or of a downtime of the internal combustion engine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 2010
Date of Patent: July 14, 2015
Assignee: SCHAEFFLER TECHNOLOGIES AG & CO. KG
    Inventors: Ralf Stopp, Michael Bogner
  • Patent number: 7931408
Abstract: A unit, which has a wheel bearing and at least one vehicle-sided fixed support. The wheel bearing has at least one outer part which is rigidly fixed to at least one bearing seat which is embodied as an axial passage of a sheet metal molded part of the support, and at least one end section of the outer part is surrounded in a radial and supple manner, at least in the proximity of the passage such that the end section engages in an axial mariner behind the support.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 11, 2005
Date of Patent: April 26, 2011
    Assignee: Schaeffler KG
Inventors: Peter Niebling, Gottfried Ruoff, Horst Doeppling, Darius Dlugai, Ralf Stopp

  • Patent number: 6460398
Abstract: In a mechanism where movement is transferred from one component to another by frictional contact and where the intensity of the frictional contact can be changed by altering the contact pressure, a method for determining the amount of slippage between the component parts uses a measurement of a value that corresponds to the power loss due to friction, also known as power dissipation, which occurs during the transfer of movement between the component parts. In this measurement, the level of power dissipation is determined in dependence on the contact pressure force, and an increase in the amount of the dissipated power that occurs when the contact pressure force decreases is interpreted as slip.
