Publication number: 20230036505Abstract: A storage compartment of a vehicle includes at least two covering elements disposed one behind the other in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle in a closed position where the at least two covering elements are shiftable out of the closed position into an open position guided by forced guides and where the at least two covering elements in the open position enclose an angle of at least ?45° to at most 45° with a vertical direction of the vehicle. The at least two covering elements are shiftable between the closed position and the open position by an actuator device. At least two catches respectively engage on the at least two covering elements where the at least two catches are respectively hinged on at least two circularly moveable drive elements of the actuator device.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2020Publication date: February 2, 2023Inventor: Ralf ZIPPERLE

Patent number: 7523975Abstract: A storage compartment for a vehicle has a storage compartment cover which is pivotably mounted toward two sides. The latter can be pivoted either toward one side or toward the other side. In order to design the storage compartment such that it can be operated as simply and conveniently as possible and is secure, provision is made for the storage compartment cover to have two locked axes of rotation in its closed position. After one axis of rotation is released, a driving device automatically pivots the storage compartment cover in a damped manner into an open position.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2003Date of Patent: April 28, 2009Assignee: Daimler AGInventors: Juergen Chaloupka, Oliver Hasenoehrl, Ralf Zipperle

Publication number: 20080022730Abstract: A locking device for a cover of a glove compartment of a motor vehicle is positioned so as to swivel on an associated frame and is held in the closed condition by two locking sections of the locking bar engaging behind an associated locking contour on the frame. The locking bars can be synchronously displaced from their locked position to the release position in order to open the cover by way of an actuation element. In order to minimize installation space, especially in the area of the cover, the actuation element is positioned on the frame side and, for opening the cover, interacts with its locking section on the associated locking bar, displacing it in the opening direction, while the other locking bar is moved into its release position.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 30, 2004Publication date: January 31, 2008Applicant: DAIMLERCHRYSLER AGInventors: Andre Dietrich, Ulrich Nienhaus, Manfred Zehnder, Ralf Zipperle

Publication number: 20060163898Abstract: The invention relates to a storage compartment (1) for a vehicle, having a storage compartment cover (2) which is pivotably mounted toward two sides. The latter can be pivoted either toward one side or toward the other side. In order to design the storage compartment (1) such that it can be operated as simply and conveniently as possible and is secure, provision is made for the storage compartment cover (2) to have two locked axes of rotation (21, 22) in its closed position. After one axis of rotation (21) is released, a driving device (3) automatically pivots the storage compartment cover (2) in a damped manner into an open position.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2003Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventors: Juergen Chaloupka, Oliver Hasenoehrl, Ralf Zipperle

Patent number: 6464281Abstract: A motor-vehicle dashboard of modular construction has an upper part module which extends below a windscreen essentially over the entire width of the vehicle interior, a driver's side module which is arranged below the upper part module on the driver's side, a front-passenger's side module which is arranged below the upper part module on the front-passenger's side, and a central console module which is arranged below the upper part module between the driver's side module and front-passenger's side module. In order to improve the capability of this dashboard to be customized, it is proposed to arrange a variable module below the upper part module between the central console module and front-passenger's side module.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2001Date of Patent: October 15, 2002Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Tilo Volkmann, Ralf Zipperle

Patent number: 6315436Abstract: A Storage compartment, in particular a glove compartment, for a motor vehicle is provided. The storage compartment includes a compartment housing which has at least two sections, which are arranged one above the other and are separated from one another by a transverse wall, and a compartment opening on the front side allowing access to the sections. For the purpose, with little technical outlay, of sufficiently illuminating the sections lying one above the other, a downwardly shining lamp is arranged in the vicinity of the compartment opening in such a manner on the upper, transversely extending housing wall and at least one reflector is arranged in such a manner on the inside of the flap that in the swung-down position of the flap light from the lamp which impinges on the reflector is reflected into the depth of at least one lower section.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2000Date of Patent: November 13, 2001Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Bernd Schenk, Ralf Zipperle

Patent number: 6131242Abstract: A damping device is provided for a part that is pivotable between two end positions, with a viscous brake for delaying the pivoting movement. The brake has a brake wheel and a drive member that engages the wheel at a tangent. The wheel and drive member move apart from one another when the part is pivoted, thus causing rotation of the brake wheel. One of the brake wheel and the drive member is in a fixed location and the other is on a lever that is articulated to the part. The articulation point is set so that the displacement travel of the lever within a constant pivot angle of the part increases with the path of the part as it pivots from its first to its second end position with consequent progressive damping characteristics.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1998Date of Patent: October 17, 2000Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Ralf Zipperle, Bernd Schenk

Patent number: 5678875Abstract: A receiving arrangement for equipment and/or objects in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, has a shaft with inserts arranged therein above one another, such as a tray, a cassette box, an ashtray and the like. For a reliable holding of the inserts in the shaft, also in the case of a rear impact and while maintaining a simple mounting and demounting of the inserts, longitudinal guides are provided between each insert and the lateral shaft walls, for the drawer-type sliding-in and sliding-out of the inserts from the direction of the passenger compartment. A locking mechanism, which can be released only manually, is provided between each insert and the shaft and which engages automatically when the insert is slid in. The locking mechanisms are arranged in the shaft so that they are accessible for manual operation only after the removal of the insert disposed above from the shaft.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1996Date of Patent: October 21, 1997Assignee: Mercedes-Benz AGInventors: Ralf Zipperle, Jurgen Korber
