The separator tank includes a tank body defining an inner volume, a tank inlet pipe providing fluid communication with the inner volume of the tank body, wherein the tank inlet pipe tangentially penetrates the tank body and is oriented to direct fluid entering the tank body in a spiral fluid flow pathway, and a sump tube positioned to collect fluid flowing within the tank body, the sump tube comprising a vertically oriented opening oriented to align and capture fluid flowing along the spiral fluid flow pathway.

Abstract: A portable screw compressor that includes a spiral valve configured to be driven by an actuator motor; and an electronic controller coupled to an engine of the portable screw compressor and to the actuator motor. The electronic controller can be configured to, for a compressor pressure of the portable screw compressor exceeding an upper bound of a nominal pressure range, drive the actuator motor to configure the spiral valve to open one or more ports; and for the compressor pressure of the portable screw compressor being lower than a lower bound of the nominal pressure range, drive the actuator motor to configure the spiral valve to close the one or more ports.

Abstract: A spiral valve and a screw compressor having a compressor housing and the spiral valve are provided. The spiral valve includes an actuator module disposed adjacent an exterior of the compressor housing, the actuator module includes an electric motor, a gearbox mechanically coupled to the electric motor to transmit torque from the electric motor, a shutter coupled to the gearbox to rotate in response to a transmitted torque from the electric motor, wherein the shutter is positioned to open and close one or more of a plurality of bypass ports formed in the compressor housing based on the rotational position of the shutter, wherein the compression length of the screw compressor may be controlled by controlling the opening and closing of the one or more bypass ports.
