Abstract: An outrigger system for use with a custom fit splint to achieve precise alignment of dynamic splint forces following traumatic injury, disease or surgery of the hand.

Abstract: A support and straightener for finger joint contractures comprising a thin narrow rectangular pliable sheet metal base angularly displaced at one end and having a rigid support aligned with and secured to its bottom surface. The rigid support is angularly displaced from the one end of the base with a threaded aperture extending therethrough. An adjustable screw is threaded through the aperture for engaging with the one end of the base for applying a vernierly adjustable force to the finger joint. A non stretchable strap is mounted around the joint of the finger to be straightened and the support for applying a fixed perpendicular force to the finger at the area effected by the contracture.

Abstract: A compact, low-profile, prefabricated dynamic splint component for use in treating certain wrist conditions or injuries. The component is mounted on the wrist and forearm by means of a wrist gauntlet. It subjects the hand to a perpendicular force that urges the hand upward about the wrist joint while avoiding the application of any compression forces to the wrist.

Abstract: An outrigger extension for dorsal wrist splints employing adjustably positioned wheels mounted on a wire frame arranged immediately over the digits of a postoperative hand for precise alignment of dynamic splint forces following implant resection arthroplasty of the metacarpophalangeal joints.
