  • Patent number: 5865561
Abstract: A tensioning assembly for connecting an outer component to a shaft. The tension assembly includes a double conical ring with a cylindrical circumferential surface and two oppositely inclined conical surfaces, and also includes two further conical clamping rings with each conical clamping ring having a conical circumferential surface which interacts with one of the conical surfaces of the double conical ring. Axial tensioning screws and axial forcing screws are uniformly distributed over the circumference of a pitch circle, such that the forcing screws are located at the same spacings and instead of the tensioning screws. At one location, a tensioning screw is provided outside the uniform spacings in order to ensure the correct alignment of the conical rings on the double conical ring in the circumferential direction.

  • Patent number: 5370472
Abstract: The cone-type clamping arrangement is arranged in the intermediate space between the external circumference of a shaft and the internal circumference of the bore of an external member. It comprises a double-cone member, a cone ring arranged on the first cone surface of the double-cone member, and, arranged on the second cone surface of the double-cone member, a cone member which has an axial extension with cylindrical internal circumferential surface, which extension overlaps the cylindrical external circumferential surface of the cone ring and forms an overlap. During clamping, friction only occurs on three surface pairs. During loosening, the cone ring is supported, with a radial circumferential projection, on the flank of a circumferential groove of the double-cone member.

  • Patent number: 5067847
Abstract: A clamping set is provided wherein elastic deformation of the peripheral collars is no longer necessary to produce engagement of the same. The screw ring can be pushed across the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the outer taper ring until its inwardly projecting peripheral collar bears against the outwardly projecting peripheral collar of the outer taper ring. These can then be pushed together across the inner taper ring from its thin-walled end until the inner thread of the screw ring comes into contact with the external thread of the inner taper ring and fastening begins. All interacting parts can, thus, be designed to be substantially stronger, since they no longer need to be deformed to produce engagement. Accordingly, the forces which can be applied are also greater.

  • Patent number: 5009539
Abstract: A clamping arrangement includes taper sleeves which are movable axially towards each other and upon movement in a specific direction open outward radially, so that an outer component can be clamped on a shaft. The axial displacement of the taper sleeves towards each other takes place by means of a screw sleeve with threads of differing pitch, engaging in corresponding threads on the ends of the taper sleeves lying outside a clamping region. The clamping can be produced or released by turning the screw sleeve in one direction or the other.

  • Patent number: 4800644
Abstract: The clamp apparatus transmits torque forces between a shaft and a hub. The clamp apparatus comprises conical rings, each having a conical surface together with a cylindrical inner or outer circumferential surface. The conical rings are drawn together by axial straining screws, thereby radially expending the clamp apparatus. Surface channels are provided on at least one of the conical surfaces into which a flowable lubricant may be forced under high pressure.

  • Patent number: 4702637
Abstract: A conical stressing device for connecting a hub to a shaft, the device including a double conical stressing assembly adapted to be mounted on the outer periphery of the hub, so that the hub may be radially compressed to attach it rigidly to the shaft by frictional forces, the double conical stressing assembly including: (1) a double conical ring which has two coaxial peripheral surfaces axially spaced apart and tapering in opposite directions, whereby the greatest wall thickness of the double conical ring is in the central region of its axial length, (2) two conical rings, each of which possesses a conical peripheral surface that acts in conjunction with a respective conical surface of the double conical ring, and (3) axial tensioning bolts which are distributed around the perimeter and are inserted in holes drilled axially in the conical rings, the axial tensioning bolts placing the conical rings under axial tension to force them to slide along the conical surfaces, wherein one of the conical rings tensions

  • Patent number: 4573825
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a first conical ring which acts from the inside against a radially thin walled portion in the center opening of the disk and a second conical ring which acts against a radially thick walled partial area located adjacent the disk. The thin and thick walled portions are part of a flanged hub ring which is connected with the disk by bolts.

  • Patent number: 4260387
Abstract: A drum pulley arrangement for conveyor installations, comprising at least one drum pulley hub having a central opening and a bearing having a central opening aligned with the hub opening. A drum shaft extends through the hub opening and terminates with an end within the bearing opening. A sleeve surrounds a portion of the drum shaft and extends through the hub opening and bearing opening, the sleeve having an interior opening of a diameter adapted to rest on the drum shaft at least in some region of the shaft end. A tightenable tapered clamping assembly is provided for each drum pulley hub, the assembly serving when tightened to couple the sleeve to the drum shaft and to the hub for transmitting a drive torque from the sleeve to the hub and to the drum shaft.
