  • Patent number: 5716225
Abstract: An electrical assembly for selectively supplying either 120 volts or 227 volts from a junction box to a high intensity discharge lamp fixture via a dual voltage ballast and a dual voltage electrical connector. The dual voltage electrical connector has dual operation capacity with input voltages of either 120 or 277 volts. The connector comprises a female connector having nine bores extending therethrough with female terminals fixedly coupled within four of the bores, and a male connector having nine bores extending therethrough with contact pins extending outwardly from four of these bores. When the connectors are coupled together in their first orientation, the male contact pin which conducts 120 volts of electricity engages the female terminal connected to a line wire. When the male and female connectors are manually rotated 180.degree. relative to one another into their second orientation, a different pin, which conducts 277 volts, engages the line wire terminal.

  • Patent number: 5075831
Abstract: A lighting fixture assembly having a plaster plate, and a tubular lamp housing for installing a recessed light into a ceiling. The plaster plate has a blank portion removed to form a lamp housing receiving aperture. The tubular lamp housing has a tubular sidewall, an open bottom end aligned with the lamp housing aperture in the plaster plate and a closed top end, which is formed by the blank portion removed from the plaster plate to form the lamp housing receiving aperture. Preferably, the tubular lamp housing is substantially cylindrical with the sidewall tapering slightly inwardly and upwardly from its open bottom end to its closed top end.

  • Patent number: 5013251
Abstract: A connector apparatus or adaptor for use in a track-lighting system is provided which includes a grounding leaf to effect electrical contact between a grounded metallic track and a grounding conductor or grounding wire in the connector apparatus. The grounding leaf is slidably mounted onto the floor of the connector apparatus and provides an upwardly protruding lip which is placed in contact with an arm of the metallic track upon locking engagement therewith.
