  • Publication number: 20080262321
Abstract: A portable system for detecting agents present in a sample is disclosed. The system comprises a sensing device, having a substrate formed with a plurality of reaction chambers and a plurality of channels interconnecting at least a portion of the plurality of reaction chambers, wherein at least a portion of the plurality of reaction chambers comprises a sensor, capable of generating a detectable signal when exposed to the agents. The system further comprises a detector, which receives signals from the sensing device and provides an image of sensors generating the optical signals. The portable system is connected to a communication network via a communication unit.

  • Publication number: 20080255431
Abstract: A method of detecting the presence of harmful agents in the environment is disclosed. The method comprises: providing a plurality of portable agent detectors, placing the detectors on vectors in the environment, connecting the detectors over a communication network, and, upon detection of an agent by a first detector, signaling detectors identified as being nearby to carry out corresponding agent detection tests, thereby to confirm or localize an initial agent detection.

  • Publication number: 20070281288
Abstract: A device for detecting a presence of an analyte in a sample. The device comprises a device body configured with at least one reaction chamber configured for containing a sensor capable of producing a detectable signal when exposed to the analyte in the sample. The reaction chambers are in fluid communication with at least one sample port and at least one actuator port via a first set of microfluidic channels arranged such that application of a negative pressure to actuator port delivers fluid placed in the sample port to the reaction chambers.

  • Publication number: 20040154984
Abstract: According to the present invention a new device is provided for preparing biocide solutions of constant concentrations. More specifically, solid biocide is dissolved, in a controlled and monitored way, to provide solutions, all having the same and constant dose of biocide per volume. The new device overcomes the main disadvantage of the existing solid-biocide feeders, namely the decrease in the biocide concentration with time due to the gradual depletion of solid biocide in the feed container.
