  • Patent number: 11381584
Abstract: A customer in a computing resource service provider environment provisions a virtual machine instance configured with access to sensitive data in a secure storage facility. The virtual machine instance is provisioned specifically to generate reports using a subset of the sensitive data to satisfy different reporting requirements associated with governing entities and agencies. After generating the reports, the virtual machine instance is then removed from the computing resource service environment such that the sensitive data is inaccessible.

  • Patent number: 11356453
Abstract: A plurality of virtual machines instances are instantiated and configured to use a subset of sensitive data to generate reports such that the reports can be visually inspected by authorized personnel or entities for potential abnormalities. After completion of the inspection, the virtual machine instances are then deleted such that the sensitive data that were used to generate the reports become inaccessible.

  • Patent number: 9710505
Abstract: Described herein are system and methods for mitigating index contention issues in databases. The database server may generate additional storage locations to prevent overloading one or more current storage locations. A variety of database conditions may be used to trigger an increase or decrease in storage locations. In one embodiment, more storage locations may be generated when the amount of data records waiting to be written at a storage location exceeds or equals a threshold amount. Likewise, the database server may reduce the amount of current storage locations when the amount of data records is less than a threshold amount. The record identifiers may incorporate a location reference for their designated storage location. The reference may be a string that includes numbers, letters, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 9256659
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for generating integrated identifiers that may be combined with database sequence values to create a high probability of uniqueness that minimizes assigning duplicate identifiers to one or more databases. The integrated identifier may be based in part on several identifiers associated with a database. This may include a numeric identifier assigned to the database, a name assigned to the database, or any other database property that may be relatively unique. In one embodiment, the integrated identifier may be associated with a sequence value for a database. While the sequence value may be unique within the database, the integrated identifier may be unique to other database identifiers. When an existing database is cloned, a new integrated identifier may be generated from the cloned database. New records stored in the new database may use the new integrated identifier, while the cloned records will remain unedited.
