  • Publication number: 20230399881
Abstract: A segmented closure system for providing a closure strip of variable length capable of allowing the efficient opening and closing of an object to form a barrier such as a temporary door. The segmented closure system generally includes a pair of closure members each including a magnet for removably securing the closure members together. Each closure member includes a fastener for securing the each closure member to an object, such as to a pair of adjoining plastic sheets to form a temporary barrier such as a door. Each closure member may include mating connectors for linking the pair of closure members together end-to-end in a linear or angled orientation. Each closure member may include a pivotable segment connected to its main body by a connector pin. Temporary barriers of variable sizes may be easily constructed by interlinking multiple closure members together on opposite edges of a pair of plastic sheets.

  • Patent number: 10521189
Abstract: A mobile device includes a plurality of physical buttons for providing programmable control inputs to the mobile device. A processor within the mobile device is programmed with instructions to cause the mobile device to respond to a first input via a first of the plurality of physical buttons by activating voice recognition by the mobile device and providing an indication on a status bar on a screen of the mobile device. The mobile device accepts voice inputs and processes the voice inputs locally and via interactions with a remote server to provide contextualized information within an application executing on the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 9942177
Abstract: A cloud information service provides information delivery substantially in real-time to in-network users and out-of-network users. Information delivered is formatted to appear visually as a card (a “smartcard”) for both in-network and out-of-network users. Real-time communication by way of messaging is enabled with any user whether they are in-network or out-of-network. Users of the cloud information service may employ mobile devices or desktop or laptop computers. Updates in substantially real-time are provided to the smartcards as the data sources change. The data sources may include enterprise and Internet data. The information is provided in a manner to remain current for mobile users and is efficient for mobile networks that can often experience poor connectivity and limited bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 7584418
Abstract: A system and method for prefabricating information pages is disclosed, in which the necessary steps to retrieve and package information requested by a user are preemptively performed by the computer system. When the user later makes an explicit request for information, the desired information can be immediately displayed to the user without the delays associated with contemporaneous retrieval and packaging of the information. The prefabrication system of the invention can be configured to automatically tune its processing to the changing conditions that exist in the computer system, which can be used to maximize use of available system resources. The present invention can be scalably deployed to perform coordinated prefabrication services on multiple, distributed computing nodes. In an embodiment, the invention is completely non-intrusive, in which no changes to existing application are required to implement prefabrication of pages.

  • Patent number: 7526481
Abstract: A middle-tier Web server with a queryable cache that contains items from one or more data sources. Items are included in the cache on the basis of the probability of future hits on the items. When the data source determines that an item that has been included in the cache has changed, it sends an update message to the server, which updates the item if it is still included in the cache. As disclosed, the data source is a database system and triggers in the database system are used to generate update messages. The data access layer determines whether a data item required by an application program is in the cache. If it is, the data access layer obtains the data item from the cache; otherwise, it obtains it from the data source. The Web application programs use global data set identifiers to identify data sets, while the cached data sets are identified by local data set identifiers.

  • Patent number: 7370269
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating annotation of a document co-browsed by multiple attendees of a collaboration session. A co-browsed page is served to the attendees by a collaboration server. An attendee (e.g., the host) annotates the page by highlighting a portion, placing or moving a pointer, scrolling the page within a window, or taking some other action. A collaboration applet operating in conjunction with the attendee's browser notes the position of the annotation (and size of annotation if it involves highlighting) and normalizes that position relative to the page. The collaboration applet then transmits an annotation event to the collaboration server, with the normalized position. The event is forwarded to other attendees, where the annotation is recreated.

  • Patent number: 7149776
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating the collaborative co-browsing of a document or web page. A collaboration server retrieves content of a page on behalf of a collaboration participant or attendee. Each attendee operates or views the content with a browser that is augmented with a collaboration applet. Tags, links, script code and other references that may cause a different page to be accessed or loaded fro the current page are transformed or replaced on the server before the page is distributed to the attendees. In particular, events and redirections that may cause the attendee browser to directly navigate to another page are transformed on the server. Pre-determined rules may be applied to prevent some attendees from viewing certain content (e.g., financial or personal data). A page may be further transformed at a client browser, to redirect a hyperlink to the collaboration server or to trap some other event.
