  • Publication number: 20140029262
Abstract: A lighting fixture comprising a stationary housing and a mobile housing carried by the stationary housing is provided. The lighting fixture also includes a lens carried by the mobile housing, a first rotation mechanism operatively connected to the connection rod, and a second rotation mechanism carried by the encasing member. The connection rod may protrude at least partially through the backing of the mobile housing. The first rotation mechanism may be configured to rotate the mobile housing about a first rotational axis, and the second rotation mechanism is configured to rotate the mobile housing about a second rotational axis. The mobile housing is configured to rotate about the first rotational axis such that portions of the lens are selectively positionable below a plane defined by a lower surface of the encasing member.

  • Patent number: 8608348
Abstract: An electrical device and method are presented, the device having an enclosure defining an interior volume sealed from the environment and an electronic lighting apparatus, which may include a heat generating element such as a light source, a heat sink, and a fluid flow generator, and optionally a support offsetting the fluid flow generator form the heat sink. The heat sink may be positioned adjacent the heat generating element and transfer heat there from. The fluid flow generator may create a flow of fluid to transport heat away from the heat sink and to the enclosure. The electronic lighting apparatus may be carried by the enclosure and partially disposed within the interior volume of the enclosure. The electrical device may further include an optic carried by the enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20130313997
Abstract: A signal adapting chromacity system to control that may include a signal conversion engine to receive a source signal designating a color of light defined by a two spatial plus luminance dimensional color space, such as the xxY color space. The signal conversion engine may convert the source signal to a three dimensional color space defined within a subset gamut of a full color gamut, such as an RGW, RBW, or GBW color space. The subset gamut may include a first color light, a second color light and a high efficacy light. The signal conversion engine may perform a conversion operation to convert the source signal to an output signal, using the output signal to drive light emitting diodes (LEDs). The conversion operation may be a matrix, angular or linear conversion operation.

  • Patent number: 8384984
Abstract: A lighting device is described for receiving source light within a predetermined source wavelength range, converting the source light into a converted light, and reflecting the converted light to a desired output direction. The lighting device may use a micro electromechanical system (MEMS) device to receive and redirect the source light to the desired output direction. A conversion coating may be applied to the operative surface of the MEMS device to convert the source light into a converted light.

  • Publication number: 20120285667
Abstract: A cooling system for light emitting diodes (LEDs) is provided that may comprise acoustic baffle members, a micro-channel heatsink that includes fins adjacent to the LEDs, and a fluid flow generator adjacent to the micro-channel heatsink that directs a fluid in a flow direction. The fluid flow generator may include an input to receive the fluid and an exit to exhaust the fluid, which may contact a surface area of the fins. The sound emitted by the fluid flow generator may be substantially cancelled by the acoustic baffle members, which may reflect the sound to a source location as reflected sound waves defined by a substantially inverted phase.

  • Patent number: 7389184
Abstract: A controllable seismic source is used in a seismic-while-drilling system for obtaining VSP data. Coded information is sent downhole about the signal generated by said controllable source. The information about the seismic source is used for reconstructing the source waveform and processing the VSP data. Optionally, a reference signal measured at one depth of the BHA is used for processing of signals at subsequent depths.
