  • Patent number: 8864275
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a printhead module having an ink leakage detector to detect a leaked phase change ink. The ink leakage detector includes a plurality of resistance temperature detectors or resistive thermal devices to detect the leaked phase change ink. A horizontally mounted overdriven thermistor can also be used to detect leaked ink.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 14, 2011
Date of Patent: October 21, 2014
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
Inventors: Glenn D. Batchelor, Chad E. LaBarge, Ali R. Dergham, Randall E. Kaufman

  • Patent number: 8229341
Abstract: This is a waste cyclone toner dispense system with a controlled gate and a collection bag below the gate. The controlled gate is configured to be opened and closed at a predetermined time thereby permitting the use of relatively inexpensive bags for collection of toner debris. The gate is hinged to permit easy opening by a controller and motor. The controller turns off any pressure while the gate is open. The drop gate conveys when open waste toner from an upper waste collection funnel to the collection bag.

  • Patent number: 8195080
Abstract: This is a waste cyclone toner dispense system with a controlled gate and a collection bag below the gate. The controlled gate prevents pressure from entering the bag thereby permitting the use of relatively inexpensive bags for collection of toner debris. The gate has rotating blades tightly pushed against a sealing wall, such as rubber or the like. The wall must prevent pressure from reaching the bag and remaining only above the bag. The rotating blades convey waste toner from an upper collection to the collection bag.

  • Publication number: 20080184606
Abstract: This is a xerographic or electrophotographic marking machine having a plurality of doors or panels that open into the interior of the machine. The present embodiments provide a covering or skin that can be attached to the exterior of these doors or panels to change their appearance or to have a logo on the skin, or to have the color of the skin provide information. The thickness of the skin should not exceed the space between adjacent doors or panels when they are closed. A thickness of from 1-3 mm in our tests accommodated this space limitation.

  • Patent number: 6418282
Abstract: An exterior or interior structural member in the form of a panel for an image forming or similar device is disclosed which has an integral plenum passage for fluid/air. The panel may be thermoformed and/or have mechanically connected parts, and may include other elements, such as toner bottle covers.
