  • Patent number: 5738380
Abstract: A fuel fill system for use on a tractor having a lower fuel tank provided with an upwardly projecting fuel fill neck and an upper tank connected to the lower tank for flow communication therewith is disclosed wherein a filler tube is sealed against the fuel fill neck to define the inlet opening for the introduction of fuel into the lower tank. The filler tube is provided with a distal elbow defining an outlet opening positioned below the upper tank to direct gaseous bubbles within the fuel away from the filler tube to collect in said fuel fill neck or in other remote parts of the upper and lower tanks. A vent hole is provided in the filler tube near the inlet opening to allow the fuel to rise within the fuel fill neck as the upper tank fills. An adapter is threaded onto the fuel fill neck to capture a flange formed on the filler tube at the inlet opening to seal the filler tube against the fuel fill neck. A detachable cap is threadably received on the adapter to close off the inlet opening.

  • Patent number: 4474522
Abstract: A mechanism for powering the formation of a tie-tier on a bale wagon is disclosed wherein the drive for pivotally moving the first table to convey a set of three bales onto the second table provides the driving power to kick the center bale back onto the first table. The movememt of the kicker mechanism to move the center bale back onto the first table effects a movement of a spiking mechanism to fix the exterior ends of the outer bales of the set conveyed onto the second table for rotation about vertically extending spikes and effects the movement of a two bale trip from a retracted position. A latching mechanism is provided to latch the kicking mechanism in a forward position so as to maintain the spiking mechanism and the two bale trip in operative positions during the formation of the tie-tier.

  • Patent number: 4305690
Abstract: A bale wagon for picking up bales of crop material from the field and forming them into a generally symmetrical pyramidal stack for deposit at a selected location is provided. The bale wagon includes a mobile frame pivotally supporting a stack forming load bed, a bale support and transfer mechanism for depositing the bales at a predetermined position on the load bed, a pickup mechanism for moving the bales from the field to the support and transfer mechanism, and a pusher mechanism for moving the bales along the load bed from the predetermined position. A control mechanism coordinates the functioning of the components so as to form a multi-layered stack of bales with each succeeding layer centered on and containing one less row of bales than the previous layer.

  • Patent number: 4088231
Abstract: A bale wagon has improved apparatus for repositioning selected bales on its second, tier-forming table so as to provide a generally even stack side on the bale loader side of the bale wagon. The apparatus includes a frame slidably mounted on the underside of the second table adjacent to the bale loader side thereof and a pair of bale-engaging cleats mounted on the frame and extending upwardly through elongated slots formed in the second table. The frame is slidable along a generally linear path which angles toward the forward right corner of the second table and is interconnected to a first, bale-receiving table of the bale wagon through a cable and pulley system. A spring biases the slidable frame to an outer position toward the loader side of the second table.
