    Abstract: A modular mounting system for institutional or classroom furniture or fixtures includes mounting rails that are attached to a wall surface in a horizontal orientation and that are vertically spaced. The mounting rails have a flat wall-mounting portion, with upper and lower T-shaped sections projecting therefrom, forming upper and lower U-channels and a central C-channel. The wall-mounting portion has a lower chamfered edge. Sections of mounting rail are aligned by a spline inserted into the C-channel. The system is infinitely adaptable to a wide range of changing uses for the classroom, with each element of the modular classroom furniture easily mounted to or removed from the mounting rail with only a screwdriver. The selectable elements include a flat panel accessory that rides between the upper and lower mounting rails, an accessory tray, and vertical rail members and casegoods in various configurations that attach to one or both rails.

    Abstract: A thrust reverser for a turbofan engine having an air duct defined radially inwardly by a wall around the turbofan engine and radially outwardly in part by a fan cowl of the engine. A bulkhead is adapted to be mounted on the fan cowl having a shaped surface defining an upstream wall. A translating cowl is supported for movement axially between a closed position substantially adjacent the bulkhead and an open position spaced axially apart from the bulkhead so as to form an outlet for discharge of air from the air duct. The translating cowl has a first wall and a kicker plate defining a shaped surface. The kicker plate and/or the bulkhead may have a dimension which varies at different radial locations about a circumference of the translating cowl to selectively control the forward component of velocity of the air discharged from the air duct. A plume control device may extend longitudinally across the outlet to divide the air discharged from the air duct into a plurality of plumes.

    Abstract: A thrust reversing system for controlling the fan gases from a thrust producing aircraft engine. The system comprises a first group of blocker doors surrounding the upper longitudinal portion of the engine fan duct; a second group of blocker doors positioned rearward of the first group surrounding the entire engine fan duct; mechanism is provided for translating an upper movable fairing and a lower sleeve section which during translating provides an upwardly directed opening from the fan duct through gas-directing cascades and deploys the blocker doors from a stowed duct wall lining position to a deployed fan gas blocking deployed position.
