Patent number: 7695185Abstract: The provision of premixed aqueous compositions are used to provide a paint composition of varying finish characteristics at the point of sale. Paint components are combined in differing amounts to produce paint compositions being suitable for either interior or exterior use and having differing sheens, quality levels, and color bases. A user interface to input a desired amount of paint composition and controller is provided. The controller tracks the available amount of the components by subtracting the amounts in the supply reservoirs as they are supplied to the receiving reservoir. The controller determines whether availability components in the supply reservoirs is sufficient for the amount of the desired aqueous paint composition by subtracting the amount components for the desired aqueous paint composition to be produced from the amount in the plurality of supply reservoirs.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2005Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: Coatings Management Systems, Inc.Inventors: C. Patent number: 7654727Abstract: The present invention is directed to the provision of premixed aqueous compositions which are used to provide a paint composition of varying finish characteristics at the point of sale. Thus, the merchant distributing the paint composition made from the subject premixed compositions need only maintain inventory of four compositions. The particular compositions which are the subject of the invention exhibit stable characteristics during storage in their respective reservoirs. The compositions include a pigment composition, a dispersant thickening agent, a high resin content binder, and a low resin content binder. The compositions are combined in differing amounts to produce paint compositions being suitable for either interior or exterior use and having differing sheens, quality levels, and color bases.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2006Date of Patent: February 2, 2010Assignee: Coatings Management Systems, Inc.Inventors: C. Publication number: 20090327429Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for dynamically monitoring, processing, and managing alerts are described herein. In an embodiment, the method operates by receiving messages that are either alerts or responses to existing alerts. The messages are parsed to determine if whether they are alerts or responses to alerts. Actions including updating alert states and storing alert data are executed, and then the method sends notifications regarding the alert messages and responses to a collaboration list of registered subscribers that dynamically expands over time based upon alert escalations. The method then determines whether additional messages have been received; and performs actions associated with these additional messages until there are no remaining alerts or alert responses to process. The method stores updated alert and response data in a repository so that the alerts and responses can be monitored and managed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2008Publication date: December 31, 2009Applicant: Sybase, Inc.Inventors: Randall L. Publication number: 20090150319Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for monitoring, aggregating, and correlating business events in real time and acting on the results with near zero latency, wherein each event is processed in the first order relative to the event density, are described herein. In an embodiment, the method operates by receiving historical values comprising keys and data fields at an analytic model. Rules associated with actions are applied to the historical values. Actions including updating data are executed pursuant to the rules, and then the method determines whether additional rules are to be applied; and performs actions associated with these additional rules until there are no remaining rules to apply. The method stores updated data in a database.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2007Publication date: June 11, 2009Applicant: Sybase,Inc.Inventors: Mark Matson, Randall L. Publication number: 20090134234Abstract: A nozzle includes a nozzle connector and nozzle filter engaged together. The nozzle connector is engaged with a tote connector of a tote which contains a paint component. A hose connector can be sealingly engaged with the tote connector if they are matched. The hose connector is restricted from being sealingly engaged with the nozzle connector if they do not match. Matching hose and nozzle connectors have the same color to indicate that they match each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 27, 2007Publication date: May 28, 2009Applicant: MicroBlend Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Randall L. Publication number: 20090112371Abstract: A paint manufacturing system, having a paint component storage system with a dispenser positioned below and a computer system which controls a flow of paint components. The paint component storage system having a plurality of paint component cartridges containing paint components; wherein at least two of the paint component cartridges contain the same paint component. A method for adding a component to a container involving: recognizing a volume of component in a container; generating a bar code that corresponds to the amount and type of component to be added; requesting the component; filling a tote with the component; relating the bar code with the filled tote; transporting the tote and related bar code to said container; scanning the tote bar code to verify the amount and type of component in the tote matches the amount and type of component requested; and filling the container when the tote bar code matches.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 2, 2009Publication date: April 30, 2009Inventors: Randall L.
