  • Publication number: 20170268274
Abstract: In a tilt and turn or fixed frame window, a meeting rail unit is provided in the sash unit, dividing the sash unit vertically into an upper sash portion and a lower sash portion, the meeting rail unit having an upper portion for securing an upper glazing unit in the upper sash portion, and a lower portion for securing a lower glazing unit in the lower sash portion. An upper glazing unit secured in the upper sash portion of the sash unit, and a lower glazing unit secured in the lower sash portion of the sash unit. • Patent number: 5042199
Abstract: A prefabricated window system includes a main frame which is fabricated from thermoplastic elements having substantially the same cross-sectional configuration. Windows and a screen are slideably mounted in the main frame. A thermoplastic sill is snap-connected to the bottom portion of the frame and a decorative cover is snap-connected to the top portion. Stop elements, having the same cross-sectional configuration as the cover element, are snap-connected to the side portions of the frame in order to prevent the windows from being raised or lowered too far. The windows can be pivoted for cleaning, and the frame includes portions which overlap the outer peripheries of the windows to prevent them from inadvertently being rotated outward. These portions also reduce air incursion. A latch is mounted on one window and a keeper which cooperates with the latch is mounted on the other, the keeper being firmly mounted in the window sill by upwardly extending screws.

  • Patent number: 4932453
Abstract: A prefabricated window system includes a rectangular main frame having a top frame portion, a bottom frame portion, and two side frame portions. The frame portions are extruded thermoplastic elements having substantially the same cross-sectional configuration. The frame portions include first and second channels which, in the side frame portions, serve to guide windows. The frame portions also provide a third channel which, in the side frame portions, serve to guide a screen member. The window system also includes a sill which is connected to the bottom frame portion. The sill includes an extruded thermoplastic element which is snap-connected to the bottom frame portion and which is braced with respect to the bottom frame portion. The sill covers the window channels of the bottom frame portion, and additionally has an overhang portion which covers the screen channel of the bottom frame element to keep debris out.

  • Patent number: 4924628
Abstract: A prefabricated slider window system includes a main frame made from extruded thermoplastic members. Windows are mounted in the main frame for horizontal sliding movement. The main frame includes a bottom frame portion having channels for guiding the bottom sides of the windows, and a top frame portion having channels for guiding the top sides of the windows. The channels are deeper in the top frame portion than in the bottom frame portion to permit the windows to be raised out of the channels in the bottom frame portion. The raised windows can then be removed from the main frame so that the outdoor sides of the windows can be cleaned.
