Patent number: 11185760Abstract: A device and methods for intermixing playing cards in a card stack used in casino gaming. The device includes a card-edge lifting structure for lifting the edges of adjacent sub-stacks of playing cards and two push surfaces which translate the sub-stacks closer. When the cards from the adjacent sub-stacks slip past the shaft of the card-edge lifting structure, the cards fall and interleave. The cards are “squared up” and repositioned, completing the card intermixing cycle. The card stack goes through a plurality of card intermixing cycles to obtain the necessary card randomness. Because the card falling is only being acted upon by gravity, the device is simple and compact. A number of embodiments that change the card falling characteristics and the randomness of the card stack are described. A card funnel is further described that allows a card stack to be “squared up” prior to the card intermixing process, minimizing the misalignment of the card stack and potential failures in the card intermixing process.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2021Date of Patent: November 30, 2021Inventor: Randy D. Sines

Publication number: 20200126076Abstract: Methods for purchasing of goods or services over the internet. A customer has a customer account set up at a bank with associated account information. The account information includes verification information for verification parameters, such as authorized computer identification, authorized delivery addresses, authorized global positioning satellite or other secure location information, authorized user identification, authorized telephone caller identification, and/or other account information. An order is placed by a user via an ordering computer which provides order information. Such order information includes verification variables used by the bank. Verification and/or authentication using one or more variables of the customer account information is used by the bank to validate the order before assuring payment to the merchant.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2019Publication date: April 23, 2020Inventors: Randy D. Patent number: 10167132Abstract: A container includes a canister having an upper lip, and an operator having an operator main body. The operator has a gripping ring at one end that defines an operator upper lip and a container opening. The gripping ring outside diameter is greater than an outside diameter of the operator main body. The canister includes a helical grooved canister engagement feature which extends about the canister. The operator includes an operator engagement feature which is a longitudinal slot formed through the operator main body. A lift having a lift projection is received in the operator, and the operator main body is received within the canister, with the lift projection extending through the operator engagement feature and into the canister engagement feature. The gripping ring extends at least partially over the canister upper lip, and a lower edge of the gripping ring is located adjacent the canister upper lip.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2018Date of Patent: January 1, 2019Assignee: Twist 'n Serve, LLCInventor: Randy D. Patent number: 10166461Abstract: Card shuffler apparatuses include a card repositioner used to randomly reposition a plurality of cards on-edge over an aperture extending through a card support surface to allow cards to sequentially pass through the aperture in a random order. The apparatuses may be capable of continuously and sequentially forming playing card hands for use in a game. Shuffler apparatuses may be used to obtain a measurement relating to a thickness of the deck of cards. Methods involve the use of card shuffler apparatuses to form one or more playing card hands in a playing card game. Additional methods involve counting playing cards present within a stack of playing cards using a shuffler apparatus. In further methods, a number of shuffler apparatuses and a lesser number of shuffler activation devices are provided in a gaming establishment so as to preclude simultaneous use of all the shuffler apparatuses in the establishment.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2017Date of Patent: January 1, 2019Assignee: Bally Gaming, Inc.Inventors: Randy D. Sines, Joseph John Lahti, Gary Wayne Griffin

Patent number: 10137359Abstract: An apparatus is for shuffling a plurality of playing cards used in gaming. The apparatus includes a card support adapted to support the unshuffled cards on-edge. An exciter is also included, and is adapted to impart vibrational action to the supported cards. Cards drop in a random fashion such as by controlling the relative position of the cards and passage through one or more card slots in a card rest. In at least some of the apparatuses, a medial card receiver is adapted to receive at least one card dropped from the card support and to retain the at least one received card to substantially block the card slot to prevent further cards from dropping. A positioner is preferably included to change a relative position of the unshuffled deck and card slots though which the cards drop.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2017Date of Patent: November 27, 2018Assignee: Bally Gaming, Inc.Inventor: Randy D. Publication number: 20170232895Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a device and methods that detect the presence of a life form inside of a vehicle and attempts to rescue the life form in the event certain trigger events are detected. More specifically, the present invention utilizes advanced detection algorithms and communication protocols to minimize the instances of false detection alarms, relieving the emergency responder system from unneeded emergency calls. Furthermore, some embodiments of the devices are capable of autonomous responses to these trigger events and in some circumstances are capable of having emergency responders remotely respond to these trigger events.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2016Publication date: August 17, 2017Applicant: VIEW & RESCUE, LLCInventors: Randy D.
