  • Publication number: 20130334125
Abstract: A circumferentially extending weld, utilized to join the side wall and the end plate of a fluid filter together, is disposed at a terminus of at least one of the side wall and an upstanding flange of an end plate. The circumferentially extending weld may take various forms, and, for example, can be provided at adjoining axially facing ends of the upstanding flange and the side wall, between a terminal end of the side wall and a circumferentially extending inner surface of the upstanding flange, or between a terminal end of the side wall and a circumferentially extending outer surface of the upstanding flange.

  • Patent number: 8206057
Abstract: A plurality of biodegradable stakes for use as trail markers that are coated with a biodegradable coating comprised of an adhesive and a fluorescing compound for inserting into the ground such that the coated surface of the marker is exposed at various distances from each other such that the stakes glow when a source of ultra-violet light is present and thus form a route or trail by which a person can find their way to a point of interest even in low light conditions, while remaining unobtrusive so that one has difficulty seeing the stake without ultraviolet light and unless one is specifically looking for it thereby not detracting from the natural appearance of the location.

  • Publication number: 20100071851
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the manufacture of oil filters. The present invention provides a channel roll with a unique design that minimizes the channel roll surface contact with oil filter media. The design includes the formation of ridges projecting from the surface of the channel roll of such a design that is sufficient to control movement of the roll of oil media into the oil media pleating process, yet greatly reduce the surface contact with the oil media.

  • Publication number: 20060196823
Abstract: A filter assembly and method of manufacturing the same is provided that uses an inductive heating system to secure a heat sensitive filter media to a plastic base. A metal disc is arranged between the plastic base and filter media with adhesive material arranged between the filter media and metal disc. The metal disc is excited using an inductive heating system to heat and care the adhesive material without damaging the filter media.

  • Publication number: 20050279441
Abstract: A manufacturing system and a method of producing a filter assembly for use in a filter is provided. The filter assembly includes a filter media, such as a pleated paper filter element, and opposing end discs secured to the filter media by a liquid bonding agent. The manufacturing system employs the method of dispensing the liquid bonding agent onto the end discs. Opposing ends of the filter media are inserted into the liquid bonding agent. The end discs are ultrasonically excited at one or more stations to heat the liquid bonding agent to a cure temperature.

  • Publication number: 20050167356
Abstract: A filter manufacturing process includes the steps of dispensing an adhesive including an RF receptive material, and arranging the adhesive between an end disc and a filter media. The adhesive is exposed to RF waves excite the RF receptive material, which generates heat to cure the adhesive. The adhesive need only be exposed to the RF waves for several seconds. As a result, the filter media may be fully cured during the early processing stages. In one example, the adhesive is a vinyl adhesive plastisol. The filter media and end disc are passed through a curing tunnel in which an RF transmitter is arranged proximate to the adhesive to emit RF waves to excite the RF receptive material.

  • Publication number: 20050084345
Abstract: A cutting machine is provided using two electric motors that are run simultaneously. A coupling assembly is interconnected between a tool holder and the drive motors to selectively engage the drive motors. One of the drive motors is used to move the tool holder in a forward direction, and the other drive motor is used to move the tool holder in a rearward direction.
