Publication number: 20070267919Abstract: An electrical power conditioning apparatus in accordance with the present invention generally includes an electrical input for receiving power from the power source, a surge suppression circuit and a plurality of electrical outlets. A plurality of parallel channels connect the input to at least one of the plurality of outlets. At least one of the plurality of channels includes a filter circuit and a current sensor circuit for measuring the current through the channel. One or more displays are electrically connected to the current measuring to a visual indication of voltage and current measurements.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 7, 2007Publication date: November 22, 2007Applicant: Belkin International, Inc.Inventors: Scott Borden, Randy King, Ronald Moffatt

Publication number: 20070079348Abstract: A high speed video switch in a KVM system using discrete Radio Frequency (RF) switch circuits. The RF switch circuits are configured into a multiplexed circuit to route video signals from a selected host computer to a target monitor. Voltage converters are used to provide control signals of the proper voltage to the RF switch circuits. Peaking operational amplifiers are used to compensate for the roll-off effect caused by the video connectors. An On Screen Display (OSD) switch using the RF switches is used to rapidly switch between the OSD data and host computer video for display to the target operator control center monitor.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 1, 2006Publication date: April 5, 2007Applicant: Belkin CorporationInventors: Randy King, Parker Voll

Publication number: 20060167642Abstract: A system for estimating a length of a conductor (110) having a first end (111) and a second end (112) includes a device (120) capable of placing an electric signal on the conductor, an impedance element (130) that maintains the electric signal within a predetermined voltage range, and a timer (140). The device places the electric signal on the conductor such that the electric signal travels along the conductor from the first end to the second end and back to the first end. The timer determines a time required for the electric signal to travel along the conductor from the first end to the second end and back to the first end. The length of the conductor may be estimated based on the time. A compensation factor may be determined based on the length or the time, and may be used to compensate for signal attenuation in the conductor.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Applicant: Belkin CorporationInventors: Vincent Ferrer, Jack Priebe, Randy King

Patent number: 5683009Abstract: Small, lightweight metal cans such as coffee or peanut cans are easily recycled but are frequently not recycled or reused. One secondary use of these metal cans is for painting applications such as trim painting. The accessory disclosed herein enables metal cans of the aforementioned type, typically having a continuous bead around the apex end of the can, to be easily utilized for such painting applications. The reusable accessory comprises a handle having an upper and lower end and a grippable portion disposed between them. A lid is hingedly attached to the upper end of the handle, the lid having an upper and lower surface, the lower surface having at least one continuous lip suitable to engage the bead of the can. Additionally, the lid has a cutout through which a paint brush may pass which is particularly configured so as to enable a paint brush to hang suspended in the can from the lid. The can is secured to the handle by a variety of mechanisms.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1996Date of Patent: November 4, 1997Inventor: Randy A. King
