  • Publication number: 20180216333
Abstract: A method of securing a toilet base that includes coupling a foot of a first support member to a first portion of a trap; pivotally coupling a first clamping member to a leg of the first support member, so that first clamping member can rotate relative to the first support member; placing the toilet base over the trap, so that a skirt of the toilet base surrounds the first support member and the first clamping member; inserting a first adjusting member through a first opening in the skirt so that a shank of the first adjusting member is coupled to a distal end of the first clamping member; and rotating the first adjusting member in a first direction to a secure position in which a head of the first adjusting member loads the skirt and the first support member loads the shank to secure the toilet base to the trap.

  • Patent number: 9976591
Abstract: A bolt and cap assembly for mounting a plumbing fixture includes a flanged nut, a bolt, a washer, and a cap. The flanged nut includes a flange and a sleeve extending therefrom. The bolt includes a substantially planar head and a shaft extending therefrom. The shaft is configured to threadably engage the flanged nut to couple the plumbing fixture to a mounting flange. The washer is configured to be positioned between the bolt and the flanged nut. The cap is configured to be removably coupled to the washer and to encase the substantially planar head of the bolt between the washer and the cap so as to conceal the substantially planar head from view and to prevent fluid from entering an area between the cap and the washer.

  • Publication number: 20180119401
Abstract: A toilet assembly includes a pedestal, a tank disposed on the pedestal, and an inlet chamber formed in the pedestal. The inlet chamber includes an inlet portion comprising an upstream end defining an upstream inner diameter, and a downstream end defining a downstream inner diameter less than the upstream inner diameter. The inlet chamber further includes an elbow extending downstream from the inlet portion, the elbow defining an elbow diameter substantially the same as the downstream inner diameter. The inlet portion is configured to receive water from the tank. The toilet assembly further includes a flush valve disposed in the tank, the valve defining a valve outlet disposed below the tank and in the inlet portion of the inlet chamber.

  • Patent number: 9951507
Abstract: A mounting assembly configured to adjustably couple a toilet to a mounting surface. The mounting assembly includes a support member configured to mount to the mounting surface; a clamping member rotatably coupled to the support member at a pivot; and an adjusting member extending through an opening in the support member and engaging the clamping member. An adjustment of the adjusting member is configured to pivot the clamping member relative to the support member to adjust a first load between the adjusting member and the support member and a second load between the adjusting member and the toilet.

  • Publication number: 20170145676
Abstract: A skirted toilet base configured to be secured to a trap, the skirted toilet base having a bowl; a wall extending from the bowl; and a mounting assembly configured to secure the toilet base to the trap. The mounting assembly having a clamping member pivotally coupled to the trap, such that the clamping member can rotate about an axis of rotation relative to the trap, and an adjusting member that extends through an opening in the wall and through a bore in the clamping member. The adjusting member has a longitudinal axis that extends in a direction that is transverse to the axis of rotation, and rotation of the adjusting member about the longitudinal axis rotates the clamping member about the axis of rotation to secure the toilet base to the trap through the clamping member and the adjusting member.

  • Patent number: 9353513
Abstract: A toilet has a trapway extending between a bowl opening and a toilet outlet opening. A heel links and provides a bend between a down leg and an out leg of the trapway. The heel has a cross-sectional profile having a major dimension and a minor dimension. The major dimension increases as the down leg transitions into the heel and reduces as the heel transitions into the out leg. This heel configuration in the trapway forms a siphon during a flushing action of the toilet.

  • Patent number: 9032560
Abstract: An actuation mechanism comprising a first handle, a second handle, a housing, a link arm member provided within the housing and pivotally coupled to the handles, and a moveable stop member provided within the housing. The first handle may be mounted to a first side of a toilet tank, and the second handle may be mounted coaxially relative to the first handle on the first side. The housing may be mounted to a second side of the tank. A rotation of one of the first and second handles results in rotation of the link arm member being limited by the moveable stop member such that the link arm member is permitted to rotate a first amount. Rotation of both the first and second handles results in movement of the moveable stop member such that the link arm member is permitted to rotate a second amount greater than the first amount.
