  • Publication number: 20240115453
Abstract: A casket includes a base, opposite sides and end walls extending up from the base and a top cover. At least the top cover is formed to have a multilayer construction including a transparent polycarbonate panel and a Suspended Particle Devices (SPD) film composed of several layers and applied to the outer surface of the transparent polycarbonate panel. A bus bar includes two conductors running through the layers of the SPD film. When voltage is applied to the conductors from a battery power source, otherwise randomly arranged particles in the SPD film align themselves in the direction of the electrical field providing transparency to the top cover so that the interior of the casket can be viewed from the exterior.

  • Patent number: 11919277
Abstract: A method for repairing window laminates in which two plies have become separated to create a void, and wherein moisture may have entered through an edge of the window laminate and into the void. The method includes the steps of: placing the window laminate in a vacuum bag and inserting the vacuum bag containing the window laminate into an oven or autoclave for a minimum of ten minutes at a minimum temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit to remove the moisture between the plies; removing the vacuum bag and window laminate from the oven, and removing the window from the vacuum bag; forcing a needle on a syringe through the edge of the window laminate in the area of the void; and injecting an adhesive in the syringe into the void to fill the void with the adhesive.

  • Patent number: 11524799
Abstract: A method for installing a replacement electrical heat sensor in a heatable aircraft window laminate structure comprising the steps of: drilling a blind hole in the edge of the window laminate; routing a channel in the edge of the window laminate from the blind hole to a terminal block of an originally installed heat sensor; inserting the replacement heat sensor into the hole; filling the hole with a material to seal the hole and the heat sensor from contamination; heating the window laminate; photographing the window laminate using an infrared camera to determine uniformity of heat distribution; placing a heated plate against the exterior surface of the window laminate directly over the position of the replacement heat sensor; measuring an electrical resistance of the replacement heat sensor to confirm proper operation of the replacement heat sensor.

  • Patent number: 10596055
Abstract: A casket assembly includes a floor structure, transparent side walls and end walls extending upwardly from a lower rail to define side panels and end panels, and a transparent lid attached to at least one of the side walls. A cardboard insert container made of a material suitable for cremation is sized for receipt within the enclosed casket interior. At least one of the side panels or end panels is movable between a closed position to completely enclose the casket interior and an open position to allow horizontal movement of the insert container holding a deceased human body into and out from the casket interior without having to lift the insert container over the top edge of the side and end panels.
