  • Publication number: 20190034138
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses methods and systems (such as a printing system) for merging an input document on a modified background form. The method includes receiving a print job from a user device accessible by a user, wherein the print job includes the input document. The print job is decomposed to determine whether a background form is selected by the user for modification. Based on determination, the stored background form is extracted. Then, a selection input from the user is received via a user interface. The background form is modified based on the selection input. Finally, the modified background form is merged with the input document to generate a print document.

  • Patent number: 10171704
Abstract: Methods and systems for thickening an interior region of a fill object are described. The method includes receiving a print job including an input image, and converting into a digital bitmap image comprised of an array of pixels, each pixel being assigned with a pixel value and an object tag information. Based on this, each pixel is defined as one of a boundary pixel of the input image, an edge pixel of the fill object in the input image, and an interior pixel of the fill object. Thereafter, the fattening of the edge pixels of the fill object, is followed by the fattening of the interior pixels of the fill object, for applying thickening to the interior region. After this, an output image is generated.

  • Patent number: 10122893
Abstract: According to exemplary methods, a processor of a printing device determines color values out of a first colorant combination using marking materials for standard colorants and marking materials for one or more extended gamut colors. The extended gamut color has colorants other than the standard colorants. Responsive to the first colorant combination including color values for each of a pair of two complementary colors, the processor calculates a second colorant combination that produces the same human-perceivable color as the first colorant combination. The second colorant combination includes only one color of the pair of two complementary colors. The printing device produces output using the second colorant combination for the standard colorants and the extended gamut color.

  • Patent number: 9972102
Abstract: Methods and devices to improve the quality of graphics objects based on adaptive stroke thickening are disclosed. The method includes receiving a graphics object having at least one stroke. The graphics object is represented within an object window made of a plurality of cells. The method further includes identifying a fill region being defined by the stroke. Both the fill region and the stroke are represented by a group of cells. The identified fill region is tagged using a predefined flag indicating a tagged fill region or any its attributes. The stroke is strengthened unidirectionally away from the tagged fill region, where a stroke color associated with the stroke being strengthened is replaced by an adapted color provided the stroke color is same as a background color associated with a background, which is a part of the object window.

  • Patent number: 9971963
Abstract: A system, device, and method for printing N-up documents with background forms, by receiving an instruction to print an N-up document, obtaining a document to be printed as the N-up document and a background form, receiving matchings of logical surfaces of the N-up document to the background form, decomposing the logical surfaces of the N-up document into raster images, generating tags, wherein each tag is associated with a pixel of a logical surface of the N-up document and identifies the logical surface, combining raster images of the logical surfaces into an N-up raster image, merging, using the tags, the background form with the N-up raster image to generate a merged N-up raster image, and printing the merged N-up raster image.

  • Patent number: 9917977
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for generating one or more cut contours based on object types. The method includes receiving from a user a print job including a first file having objects and receiving at least one object type and a cut width for printing the job at a printer. Based on the at least one object type, corresponding objects are extracted from the first file. Then, automatically cut contours are generated while creating a raster image for the extracted objects. The cut contour is generated at the cut width distance outside a boundary of each object. The cut contour then is embedded around each object in the raster image to generate a second file. The cut contour is embedded using a specific color. The second file including the cut contour in the specific color around each object is printed.

  • Patent number: 9858694
Abstract: Methods and devices to improve the quality of graphics objects based on adaptive stroke thickening are disclosed. The method includes receiving a graphics object having a stroke, where the stroke defines a fill region. The received graphics object is identified as a fill object based on the stroke including a first cell of a stroke color being different from a fill color of a second cell associated with the fill region. The stroke color and the fill color are compared with a background color of a third cell associated with a background according to a predefined condition, where the first cell, the second cell, and the third cell are linearly adjacent to each other. Based on the comparison, an adapted color being different from the background color of the third cell is selected to adaptively strengthen the first cell, which is associated with the stroke, away from the fill region.

  • Patent number: 9699357
Abstract: Disclosed are printing devices and methods that accommodate the use of multiple different output color modes and, thereby multiple different output color profiles and that support user selection of any of the profiles for printing different logical pages on a single print surface. Consequently, they do not require a user to trade off between a desire to achieve a particular result in an image on one logical page, wherein the particular result is only achievable with an extended gamut profile, and a desire to avoid the higher cost associated with unnecessarily using the extended gamut profile to print a different image on a different logical page on the same print surface. Thus, the printing devices and methods provide for rendering of both standard and enhanced quality images on the same print surface in accordance with user selections and for minimizing costs associated with printing (e.g., due to excessive colorant usage).

  • Patent number: 9495623
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-program products for optimizing SRE (Super Resolution Encoding) patterns. A hierarchical self-organizing pattern map (HSOPM) of SRE patterns can be derived, which illustrates interrelationships between consecutive SRE patterns. Such a hierarchical self-organizing map provides a first level of hierarchy, a second level of hierarchy, etc. Different weights can be assigned to different synthesis of traversal (SoT) according to the second level of hierarchy. The likelihood of the SRE patterns can then be calculated based on a fitness of continuity and the different weights, so as to subsequently select and encode an allowed number of the SRE patterns while replacing other patterns with a lower likelihood value with an immediate root and thereby adaptively optimize any number of the SRE patterns with respect to any number of values.

  • Patent number: 9262702
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a computer-implemented method, device, and computer-readable storage medium used for trapping an object against a gradient background comprising: obtaining a trapping parameter for the object in both a fast scan and slow scan direction; forming a first, a second, and a third color trap for the object; comparing the first color trap for the object with the second color trap for the object; comparing the first color trap for the object with the third color trap for the object; determining that a result of the comparing the first color trap for the object with the second color trap for the object yields a larger result than a result of the comparing the first color trap for the object with the third color trap for the object; and applying trapping to the inner side of the object.
