  • Publication number: 20220391137
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computing system for receiving a first set of input/output (IO) requests for one or more storage objects. One or more IO properties may be extracted from the first set of IO requests. Metadata may be associated with the one or more storage objects using one or more machine learning models based upon, at least in part, the one or more IO properties extracted from the first set of IO requests, thus defining storage object metadata. One or more IO processing rules may be enabled based upon, at least in part, the storage object metadata. A subsequent set of IO requests may be received. Processing of the subsequent set of IO requests on the one or more storage objects may be optimized based upon, at least in part, the storage object metadata and the one or more IO processing rules associated with the one or more storage objects.

  • Publication number: 20180275919
Abstract: Some examples relate to prefetching data in a distributed storage system. In an example, a first storage node may receive I/O requests sent by a host system, for sequential data of a storage volume distributed across a plurality of storage nodes. The first storage node may determine whether the host system is aware or unaware of layout information of the storage volume. If the host system is unware, the first storage node may prefetch the sequential data of the storage volume from other nodes of the plurality of storage nodes. If the host system is aware, the first storage node may indicate to a second storage node that the I/O requests by the host system are for the sequential data of the storage volume.

  • Publication number: 20170344579
Abstract: Some examples relate to data deduplication. In an example, upon addition or modification of a data unit in a data storage device, a Context Triggered Piecewise Hash (CTPH) key may be generated for an added or modified data unit. CTPH key of the added or modified data unit may be compared with a group CTPH key for each of a plurality of groups of data units stored in the data storage device to identify a group whose group CTPH key is within a pre-defined edit distance from the CTPH key of the added or modified data unit. A duplicate of the added or modified data unit may be identified within the identified group.
