  • Patent number: 10379151
Abstract: A method of recognizing partial discharges emitted inside or outside electrical equipment after at least one partial discharge activity has been detected Partial discharge patterns are recorded beforehand in a data base, each pattern being associated with the type of fault that generated it. A new partial discharge (Pd) pattern is acquired. The new partial discharge pattern is compared with discharge patterns that are already recorded in the data base The matching fault in the equipment is obtained by deduction, and the result is recorded in the data base.

  • Patent number: 9562941
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for locating an event transmitting a signal, including a set of sensors (Ai-Am) to measure the response times of the said signal, and processing means (3) to solve a system of equations defining distances between the said sensors and the said event as a function of a speed of propagation of the said signal and of an offset of the said response times relative to a reference time, where the device also includes: processing means (3) to recommence multiple times the solution of the system of equations, each time modifying the response time of at least one of the said sensors according to a local variation, and processing means (3) to determine the location of the event as a function of the positions obtained when the different solutions of the system of equations are found.

  • Patent number: 8676523
Abstract: A method of detecting the position of a wavefront in a time-varying signal corresponding to an event is disclosed. According to one aspect, the method includes digitizing a signal received by a detector to produce a working signal, filtering the working signal N4 times with a band-pass filter to obtain N4 filtered working signals with different pass-bands, detecting a peak of the N4 filtered working signals to detect the position of a first wavefront as a function of time of occurrence. The N4 points are plotted such that an ordinate is one of the times of occurrence and an abscissa is the width of the associated band. An exponential asymptote that fits a maximum number of the N4 points is applied, and the position of the wavefront is determined as the ordinate of the point that has the maximum abscissa and substantially fits the exponential asymptote.
