The lid is releasably locked onto the cup so as to align dipping ends of the test strips exposed through an underside of the lid with a position stabilizer, thereby causing the dipping ends to be located downwardly and submerged in fluid when the device is placed on its side in a reactive position. The position stabilizer may comprise a sidewall indentation that reduces the internal volume of the cup and keeps the cup from rolling when placed on its side.

Abstract: A device for collecting, testing and storing fluids includes a container and a removable cap. Body fluids, such as urine, are collected in the container. The cap defines a test strip holder that receives one or more drug test strips and an adulteration strip. An opening defined through a bottom of the cap provides fluid communication between the container and the cap. When tilted, fluid from the container enters the cap through the hole. A variety of plugs may be employed to block the opening and thereby prevent fluid communication between the container and the cap after fluid has entered the cap. The remaining uncontaminated and untested body fluid is stored in the container and thus made available for further confirmation testing. Associated methods for collecting, testing and storing fluids with a single device are also provided. A method of manufacturing the foregoing test device is also provided.

Abstract: A test apparatus that allows testing for the presence of both drugs of abuse and alcohol within a single device. In general, the apparatus of the present invention includes a lateral flow immunoassay screening for various drugs of abuse and a reactive pad including an enzyme as a test for alcohol. The two types of tests are contained within the same housing and these tests are performed using the same sample source from a subject being tested.
