    Abstract: A facility and a method for treating high strength wastewater include a plurality of beds having layers of granular and textile material through which the wastewater flows for reduction of BOD and COD. The wastewater is conducted to and from the beds using piping networks. Distribution conduits and drain conduits are arranged within the bed. Wastewater flow is controlled by valves remotely actuated via a control system.
