  • Patent number: 11134471
Abstract: A mobile communication device including a single Radio Frequency (RF) device is provided for coordinating operations of receiving cell broadcast messages using different subscriber numbers camped on the same cell. The mobile communication device is characterized in that one subscriber number is prioritized at a time for receiving all the blocks of a CBS message or a schedule message, allowing at least one subscriber number to receive a complete CBS message or a complete schedule message. In addition, the mobile communication device is characterized in that the schedule information received for one subscriber number is shared between the operations associated with other subscriber numbers, allowing the CBS messages for all subscriber numbers to be received.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9906324
Abstract: Selective deciphering of a received signal, as taught herein, provides a number of advantages, including greater efficiency through the elimination or at least reduction of wasted decoding cycles. The technique, such as practiced in a user equipment or other wireless communication device, capitalizes on the advantageous recognition herein that the demodulation results obtained for at least some types of received data blocks may be inspected or otherwise evaluated for characteristic patterns that are indicative of whether the data block was or was not ciphered for transmission. That evaluation informs the selective deciphering decision.

  • Patent number: 9860920
Abstract: A method of operating a mobile station requesting uplink access from a base station subsystem may include transmitting an access request to the base station subsystem, and delaying looking for a response matching the access request according to a delay interval. A response time window (RTW) may be initiated after the delay interval. During the response time window, the mobile station may look for an assignment message transmitted from the base station subsystem and matching the access request without looking for an assignment message matching the access request during the delay interval.

  • Patent number: 9743318
Abstract: Support of handover of a wireless device (110) from a first Radio Access Network, “RAN”, (101) of a first Radio Access Technology, “RAT”, to a second RAN (111) of a second RAT that is different from the first RAT. Said RATs being supported by the wireless device (110). A first radio network node (102) is comprised in the first RAN (101) and said RANs (101, 111) are comprised in a cellular radio system (100). The first radio network node (102) sends (201; 301), to the wireless device (110), a request to return a compressed version of RAT capability information. The RAT capability information is associated with the wireless device (110) and at least one of the first RAT and the second RAT.
